    Verified Purchase

This is the same brand name stuff you buy retail at Lowe's or Home Depot for several times the cost! The 2.5 gallon jug is a little unwieldy, but I just pour it out into a quart bottle and use it from there. Lasts for a long time!

By Robert in LaPorte, Ind. on 08/05/2015

Great product. In my case it took about 10-14 days to completely burn down the weeds but I also had weeds in excess of 6 feet tall with very large stems so in that case it worked very good. If faster control is needed then I will try the other roundup that burns down faster.

Pay through the nose at Home Depot for a gallon, or have it delivered to your door, two and a half gallons for less than the cost of the 1 gallon at HD. Not a hard decision. Great product.

By Nick in BARSTOW on 04/02/2017

For years I wasted money going to Home Depot to get my Round Up. They overcharge and their service sucks! Now I found DoMyOwnPestControl and I save time, money, and headache dealing with this excellent and FAST company! The product comes in a 2.5 gallon container and I have lot of property so one of these bottles lasts me 4 months! I live in the Mojave Desert where weeds are king, but not on my properties! Now my neighbors have started ordering their Round Up from this company and my neighborhood is becoming weed free!

2 of 5 stars  Large Container but wondering if it works as well.
By Turbo in AZ on 04/07/2017

Right now I can only give 2 stars. I sprayed my yard (Rock Landscaping) in Arizona first with off the shelf (Box Store) roundup concentrate, then again with this. The areas I sprayed with this are very slow over 10 days to die. Some of it has been sprayed twice and still isn't dying. There are several options for mixing and I used the second most concentrated option. I am still waiting.

    Expert Response   Expert response:
Thank you for your comments! Since glyphosate works through plants systemically, then you should give products with this active ingredient up to 14 days to start seeing results. More mature plants may take multiple or stronger applications. If you would like to provide names of any of the specific plants that you are targeting, then we may be able to make further recommendations for your treatment; some types of plants will respond better to different active ingredients. We appreciate your feedback and your business!

A

The active ingredient in Roundup is Glyphosate and there are different strengths and uses for both Commerical and Residential use. There are Roundup products geared more towards professional use such as the ones listed below where the residential are under the Scotts brand. The percentage of Glyphosate, the container size and area needing to be treated all are considered when recommending the best Non - Selective Herbicide.

The difference is the Roundup products we carry are below.

Roundup Pro Concentrate (2.5 gal jug)

QWhat is the minimum temperature for application so that Roundup Pro Concentrate is effective?
I have read the pamphlet that came with the product and I have yet to find a minimum application temperature. It is October and the days are cooling. I expect that year-round use may not be possible.

A

Roundup Pro Concentrate as well as most herbicides on the market are going to be most effective when the weeds are in an actively growing state, and ideally when soil temperatures (not air temps) are consistently at least 65 degrees or higher. You may still see some effects if the temperatures have dropped lower, but it may just take longer for the product to be absorbed and show the results of the application.

QWill Roundup Pro Concentrate be effective on Cattails in a pond?

A

We do not recommend applying Roundup Pro Concentrate  to a pond for cattail eradication. Diquat Water Weed and Landscape Herbicide is one of our top products for control of Cattails as well as a multitude of other aquatic weeds. It is not harmful to any aquatic life and will control the weeds in the water as well as along the bank.

For Cattails,

Diquat Water Weed and Landscape Herbicide may be applied by backpack, airboat, spray handgun, helicopter, airplane, or similar application equipment that results in thorough spray coverage.

Spot Treatment:

Apply Diquat Water Weed and Landscape Herbicide at 2 quarts per 100 gallons spray carrier (0.5% solution) with an approved aquatic wetting agent at 0.25-1.0% v/v (1 quart to 1 gallon per 100 gallons water). For cattail control, Diquat Water Weed and Landscape Herbicide should be applied prior to flowering at the maximum application rate (8 quarts of Diquat Water Weed and Landscape Herbicide/100 gallons spray carrier) plus the wetting agent. Repeat treatments may be necessary for complete control. Spray to completely wet target weeds but not to runoff. Densely packed weeds or mats may require additional

applications due to incomplete spray coverage. Re-treat as needed. For best results, re-treat weed escapes within 2 weeks of the initial treatment.

Broadcast Treatment:

Apply Diquat Water Weed and Landscape Herbicide at the rate of 0.5-2.0 gallons per

surface acre in sufficient carrier along with 16-32 oz./A of an approved wetting agent. Retreat as necessary for densely populated weed areas. Good coverage is necessary for control of the target weeds. For duckweed control, apply Diquat Water Weed and Landscape Herbicide at 1-2 gallons/A

Applied white 1 1/2 in stone around the bushes. Stone is away from bushes want to kill the grass to make it easier to mow. Have a 2.5 gal pro con.

A

We would recommend using the lowest rate of Roundup Pro Concentrate  when using around desirable plants. The rate is 0.5 fl oz per gallon of water. Be sure not to apply the product on a windy day to ensure it does not get on the plants you would like to keep.
