    Does the Seresto Dog Flea and Tick Collar have an expiration date if not opened?
    A

    The Seresto Dog Flea and Tick Collar does not have an expiration date as long as it has remained in its original container and stored in cool/room temperature conditions.  Once the collar has been opened placed on your animal, it will last 8 months according to the manufacturer. You may contact Bayer Animal Health at 800-255-6517 for more questions on their product.

    Could using a large Seresto Dog Flea and Tick Collar on a small dog cause harm?
    A

    Seresto Dog Flea and Tick Collar contains the same percentage of active in the sizes, you would just choose the size that best fits your pets neck.  It would not harm your small dog if you use the larger collar.  You would just have to cut more off to fit down to size.

    Can I bathe my dog with the Seresto collar on,without decreasing effectiveness?

    According to the product labelSoresto Dog Flea and Tick Collar is water-resistant and remains effective following a shampoo treatment, swimming, or after exposure to rain or sunlight, so there is no need to remove the collar during these times.

    How long does it take for the tick to die with the Seresto Dog Flea and Tick Collar if it attached?
    A

    It takes 24 hrs to kill existing fleas and 48 hrs for ticks with the Seresto Dog Flea and Tick Collar.  Re-infesting ticks are repelled and/or killed as quickly as 6 hours.

    We sleep with our dog. Should we take the Seresto Dog Flea and Tick Collar off at night time?

    There is no need to remove the Seresto Dog Flea and Tick Collar at night even if your pet is sleeping with you. The collars have been rigorously tested to be sure they are safe for pets and people.

    Can I take the Seresto Dog Flea and Tick Collar off my dogs when they are in the house? They like to play around and bite each other.
    A

    Typically, to get the best protection, you would not remove the Seresto Dog Flea and Tick Collar as long as you suspect the dogs are exposed to fleas and ticks.  The collars are pretty durable and can hold up to activity during normal play.  You can remove the collar if you feel the need to.  Just be sure it is placed right back on before going outside.

    My dog had a large tick attached to him and has been wearing the collar for 2 months.
    Used the Seresto collar for three years with no problems. Should it be tighten or something?

    Although the Seresto Dog Flea and Tick Collar can also repel ticks, there's always the possibly that a tick can attach itself to a dog. When it does happen, after a dog has worn the collar for some time, re-infesting ticks are killed as quickly as 6 hours.

    Should I shampoo my dog before fitting on the Seresto Dog Flea and Tick Collar ?

    You do not have to bathe your dog before applying the Seresto Dog Flea and Tick Collar.  It is recommended not to bathe the dog more than once a month while the collar is worn.

    Is it possible to loosen the Seresto Dog Flea and Tick Collar after fastening or do I need to cut it off?

    The Seresto Dog Flea and Tick Collar can be adjusted for size and you can cut off extra length if necessary.

    How long should I wait after removing the Seresto collar before applying a different flea/tick treatment?
    Our doggy daycare does not allow flea/tick collars, and requires that we use ointment or oral treatment. Our dog has worn the collar for about 4 months. How long after removing it is it safe to switch?

    There is no waiting time, once you remove a Seresto Dog Flea and Tick Collar you can apply a topical treatment, or oral, for fleas and ticks.

    Why should I remove the pointy things on Seresto Dog Flea and Tick collar? What's the point here?
    A

    The small plastic attachments on the Seresto Dog Flea and Tick Collar are quite pointy and can poke the dog and cause irritation. The manufacturer instructions indicate removing these pieces to avoid causing unneeded pain or discomfort to the animal.

    How long after a liquid flea product is applied can a Seresto Dog Flea and Tick Collar be placed on the same dog?
    A

    We cannot say for sure without knowing what type of liquid flea product has been applied.  Generally, once the residual of the liquid flea product has worn off, then the Seresto Dog Flea and Tick Collar can be placed on the dog.  Flea control product applications should not overlap.

    My dog has been wearing Seresto Dog Flea and Tick Collar for about 1 month and I just saw a flea. Will it die?

    Seresto Dog Flea and Tick Collar will help ward off fleas and ticks, but it may not keep a flea from hitch hiking onto the pet in an area that may not have been treated. Be sure you are also treating the areas the pet frequents. Check out our Flea Guide for more tips.

    Can I use Seresto on my dogs that I've already treated with topical drops 2 weeks ago?

    It would be recommended to wait until the residual on the topical drops you treated your pet with has run out before applying a Seresto Dog Flea and Tick Collar to avoid overmedicating your pet.
