While the collar is designed to kill any fleas or ticks that get on and feed on the pet, it will not put a bubble on the pet and keep any insect from being able to still jump on. If the pet is itching, are you seeing signs of live fleas on the pet? Itching can be caused by many factors so if you are not seeing any fleas on the dog, the collar should still be working. Seresto Dog Flea and Tick Collar are water-resitant, so they remain effective following a bath (with or without shampoo treatment), or even after your dog goes for a swim. Therefore, there is no need to remove the collar for bathing. However, using a gentle, soap-free pet shampoo is recommend.
