    NOTE: Sevin has transitioned to a new active agredient, Zeta-Cypermethrin.

    Sevin Concentrate insecticide kills over 500 listed insects and protects over 250 listed fruits and vegetables. The new active ingredient of Zeta-Cypermethrin allows it to kill upon contact and see visible results within minutes, while having a residual kill of up to 3 months. It may be use in fruit and vegetable gardens, ornamental plants and shrubs, flowers and ground covers, around structures and lawns. Sevin kills imported cabbageworm, cutworms, flea beetles, stink bugs, whiteflies, aphids, armyworms, cicadas, thrips, ants, and other listed lawn and garden insects. One gallon treats 8,000 sq. ft. of lawn and to use applied 4 fl. oz. of Sevin Concentrate per gallon of water.

    When applying this outdoors, all applications must be limited to crack-and-crevice or spot treatment only. Exceptions are for treatment to soil and vegetables around structure, applications to lawn, turf and other vegetation and applications to building foundations up to 3 feet.

    Treating Bagworms

    I was beside myself with 100s of bagworms all over my evergreen trees and shrubs, killing them. I used ecosmart insect killer, killed many but still had a bunch left. I tried Sevin and no more bagworm…

    I sprayed it on herbs, broccoli, zucchini and spaghetti squash. It took care of the leaf eating bugs. All plants showed no ill effects. JMC

    Sevin is not labeled to be applied to peas. Captain Jacks Dead Bug Brew is listed for application on peas. You will mix 2 oz per gallon of water. You will wait a minimum of 3 days from last application to harvest for succlent peas and 28 days for dried peas.

    No, Sevin Concentrate is not labeled to control any type of root aphid. Unfortunately, there are no insecticides listed for this pest specifcally. We suggest contacting your local Cooperative Extension for assistance treating this pest that is specific to your area.     How long until I can pick purple hull peas after I spray them with liquid Sevin?

    The Sevin Concentrate product label states: Do not use on fresh/succulent peas and beans. Depending on the veggie treated the PHI or Pre Harvest Interval is 3-21 days before harvest. You can find this chart on the product label. You may also contact GardenTech at 888-558-1990 for further advice about the beans.

    Is Sevin concentrate is safe for pigeon peas.

    I spray my pigeon peas about 1 wk ago and their leaves are turning yellow and falling.

    To our knowledge, there is no reason Sevin Concentrate would have turned the leaves yellow, unless another product was also applied to the pigeon peas. Please contact GardenTech 866-945-5033 to help further advise you on their product.

    How much Sevin Concentrate do I need to use per gallon of water for tomatoes?

    What concentration for tomatoes? And bi-weekly maybe but not more than 5 times per season?

    You will need to use 1.5 oz of Sevin Concentrate per gallon of water. The maximum applications of Sevin concentrate for tomatoes per season is 7, applied as necessary. The last application of Sevin concentrate must be at least 3 days before harvest.
