Unfortunately the Sevin Concentrate is not labeled for hookworms. There is not a product on the market that is labeled or recommended for hookworms. While some insecticides that are labeled for turf or lawn infesting insect may work, there has not been enough research to add hookworms to the product labels. We recommend thatif you have pets, they be moved out of the contaminated area for at least 6 weeks (during warm spring/summer months, longer during cool winter/fall months) and all feces be removed. Keeping the animals out of the contaminated area for at least 6 weeks should help control the infestation pattern. It is also important to remove feces from the new latrine area to avoid another infestation. Another option is to remove the contaminated soil and replace if you cannot keep out for 1 year.
Sevin Concentrate does state it should not be applied to trees larger than 10 feet tall; this is possibly because doing so would not apply an adequent amount of product to the trunk to be effective in killing insects that contact it. When treating for bark beetles, it is recommended to spray up to 15 feet high since generally they do not go much higher than that. You can use a product like Permethrin SFR to do so. Unfortunately, once the borers have already infested the tree there are not any viable treatment options as they would be protected from sprays. In cases of infestation the general recommendation is simply to protect the surrounding trees with preventative sprays with a product labeled for such a use. Infested trees will need to be trimmed and/or completely removed.
You will mix 3.0 fl. oz. of Sevin Concentrate per gallon of water for apple trees. Be sure to spray upper and lower leaf surfaces and between fruit clusters and on small limbs and trunks to the point of runoff where pests appear. Repeat applications as necessary up to a total of eight times per year for tree fruits or five times per year for small fruits, but not more often than once every seven days. NOTE: To avoid undesired apple thinning delay use until at least 30 days after full bloom.
Sevin Concentrate can be mixed with an herbicide as long as the products mix in the tank. Please keep in mind that these two products have two mix and app rates and the rates may not be as specific when mixed and applied together.
Once Sevin Concentrate has dried completely, it is sale for people and pets to return to treated areas. If the dog ingests grass treated with the product after it has completely dired, it shouldn't pose any harm to the dog.

Yes, Sevin Concentrate is labeled to kill sawflies. We would also recommend our Flies Be Gone Fly Trap for long term control. Flies Be Gone traps appeal strongly to a flies' natural instincts. It provides them with food and a warm place to lay eggs. Once inside the trap, they cannot escape. Flies Be Gone bait is especially appealing to female flies. Up to 85% of flies caught are female, which helps decrease the next generation of flies.
Sevin Concentrate now contains zeta-cypermethrin which is a non-selective insecticide that will leave some residual. You can use a product like PyGanic Gardening if you want a contact kill with minimal residual. PyGanic Gardening can be used on ornamental and edible plants.
Sevin Concentrate is used at 4 oz of product per gallon of water when applied with a Hand Pump sprayer or Hose-End sprayer.

Sevin Concentrate can be applied when the dew dries in the morning. If it was applied yesterday and dried prior to this morning’s dew, the application should be fine and should not need to be repeated.
