    Q
Why is Sevin prohibited for lawn use?
    A
Even though Sevin Insecticide Granules and Sevin Concentrate have the same active ingredients, they have different formulations. Because they have different formulations, they have separate Product Labels that have separate use instructions. Is Sevin concentrate is safe for pigeon peas.
I spray my pigeon peas about 1 wk ago and their leaves are turning yellow and falling.

  • Asked by Amy from Louisiana
    09/27/2013
    Q
I diluted the Sevin concentrate in a sprayer. I made a gallon and didn't use it all, so I left it in there. When I went to use it again today, it had turned brown and smells funny. What happened, and is it still safe to use?
    A
We do not recommend applying the product if it has changed in color and smells different. All liquid concentrates should be mixed when you are ready to apply within 24 hours. The solutions left in the sprayer tank could damage your equipment and be less effective in treatment.

  • Asked by Nick from Coloma, Michigan
    10/01/2013
    Q
How often do I use Sevin to kill fleas and will the fleas come back
    A

You did not mention what Sevin product you are referring to but the Sevin Concentrate product must make direct contact on the fleas for product to be effective per the product label so you would be making applications anytime fleas are present outdoors.

If you are looking to treat inside and outside for fleas, you should definitely get our Indoor/Outdoor Flea Kit.  It comes with an excellent product called Onslaught, which is great for both outdoors and indoors.  It is also very safe around pets and has a long residual.  Also in the kit is an IGR called Martins IGR.  It is photo-stable up to 14 days which is about as long as you will find for an IGR that will be outside.  Of course you should mix both together in the same tank and apply at the same time both outside and inside.

You must vacuum indoors prior to the first treatment and then vacuum daily for 14 days to help eliminate some of the flea eggs and flea debris that the pupae feed on. Outdoors you should concentrate on moist, shady areas and areas where the animals spend time resting. After 14 days a retreatment may be needed to eliminate any left over fleas (the kit comes with enough product for repeat applications).

  • Asked by Perry from Lakeland Fl

    Q
Can you spray Sevin for fleas inside
    A
Sevin is only labeled for outdoor use so would not be used inside.

We recommend using the Indoor Flea Kit. The Indoor Flea Kit with Alpine Aerosol and CimeXa dust treats over 2000 sq. ft. of space and is an excellent combination for long-lasting flea control. The kit contains two cans of Alpine Aerosol which is one of the safest professional grade flea sprays for use indoors and was recently classified as a reduced risk product by the EPA. It provides excellent control of fleas and contains an IGR as well, which prevents adult fleas from being able to lay eggs, eventually halting the flea reproductive cycle.  You'll also get two bottles of CimeXa Dust which is a safe, odorless, non-staining dust that is perfect for spreading on carpets, floor coverings, in cabinets, under furniture cushions, and other areas where fleas tend to harbor.  As fleas come into contact with CimeXa, the dust literally dries the fleas out causing eventual death.  These two products together create a powerful double punch providing excellent, safe and lasting indoor flea control.
