    Q
Can I spray to control codling moth and caterpillers on apple tree with Sevin Concentrate?
I have a problem with codling moth and now tent caterpillers on my apple trees. I have used Imiden 70w but still have problems with insect control. I read that Sevin can hurt my fruit trees.how much should I use for 20 gallons of water in my sprayer?
    A

Per the product label: Mix 3.0 fl. oz. of Sevin Concentrate per gallon of water and spray upper and lower leaf surfaces and between fruit clusters and on small limbs and trunks to the point of runoff where pest appear. Repeat applications as necessary up to a total of eight times per year for tree fruits or five times per year for small fruits, but not more often than once every seven days.

To avoid undesired apple thinning delay use until at least 30 days after full bloom

    Q
When should I start spraying the Sevin Concentrate on my plants and will it kill my little sprouts?
I know the instructions say to start using it when you see the bugs, but I don't want to see the bugs before I start to kill them. I don't want to give them a chance to kill my pumpkins and gourds. My pumpkins and gourds have sprouted and are just starting to get little vines. If I, of course, though by the instructions on the label for the amount, when is it safe for the plants to start spraying them without damaging them?
    A

Sevin Concentrate is an insecticide designed to kill and prevent insects from infesting the vegetation you are treating. You can preventatively spray before you see bugs to get ahead of the game, and the product will not harm the plants you are spraying it on as long as you follow the instructions on the product label.
