Sevin Concentrate is labeled for chiggers. It will only kill the ones that are present during the application. In order to gain control, they must be contacted with the Sevin to have any effectiveness. We do carry Onslaught Insecticide that offers a residual after it is applied and dried for 30 days. Treatments for chiggers should begin in April/May and could need to continue through the summer as new chiggers move into the area. Treating the entire lawn is of little benefit because chiggers avoid direct sunlight and normally will not infest areas that are mowed or otherwise well maintained. Focus treatment on the unkempt areas of the lawn and lawn edge. Both Sevin and Onslaught are safe when dried. Keep the children and pets out of the area during the application until the surfaces are completely dry and then they can return.
