    Q
I have small children and want to use Suspend SC for spider control in my home. Is it safe?
    A
Yes, Suspend SC and all of our products are safe as long as you follow the instructions on the product label. When mixed with water, these products are only strong enough to kill small insects. You should keep all children and pets out of the room while you are treating. Use common sense when applying, you obviously do not want to spray on any toys or around pets food and water bowls. Wait 30 minutes for product to dry, then it is perfectly safe for children and pets to re-enter the room.

    Q
How long can Suspend SC be stored for after mixing?
After mixing Suspend SC, can the unused portion in the sprayer be stored for a period of time?
    A
Most sprayer manufacturers warn against storing insecticides inside the sprayer. Storing liquids (even plain water) inside the sprayer can cause the rubber components to deteriorate quickly and make the sprayer inoperable. Only mix exactly what you can use and discard any left over solution and thoroughly rinse the sprayer after each use.

    Q
Can I spray Suspend SC on anything inside the house?
I'm trying to get rid of what I am assuming to be bed bugs, but may be some other type of small insect that is biting at night. I am assuming and hoping that this product can get rid of whatever it is. Can I spray Suspend SC on anything inside the house? Where and on what can I spray this product?
    A
Suspend SC can applied to mattresses, especially tufts, folds, and edges until moist. You should also apply to the interior of the frame. Allow to dry before remaking bed.  Also, you would want to treat around the perimeter of the room, baseboards, feet of the bed, etc.  You may want to try one of our Bed Bug Kits which have a variety of products which are proven to treat bed bugs.

    Q
What's the difference between tempo sc ultra and suspend sc?
    A
Tempo SC Ultra is formulated using the active ingredient beta-Cyfluthrin and Suspend SC is formulated using the active ingredient Deltamethrin. Both active ingredients are from the same class of insecticides known as synthetic pyrethroids and because of this both products are labeled for many of the same insects. Suspend SC does have a much broader product label and is allowed to be used in more places for more insects than the Tempo SC Ultra. Tempo SC Ultra on the other hand is known to have a bit of a faster knockdown and less chance of resistance because it has not been as widely used. Please take a moment to read over the Suspend SC product label and the Tempo SC Ultra product label to see which product would best fit your needs.

    Q
How does Suspend SC compare to Talstar P?
    A
Both the Suspend SC and the Talstar P contain synthetic pyrethroids for active ingredients and will provide very similar results. The only advantage to using Talstar P over Suspend SC is that it is known to be super gentle on most plants (do not use on edible vegetation) and is virtually odorless while Suspend Sc does have a slight odor. Both products can be used indoors and outdoors and both products are safe to use in houses with children and pets.

    Q
What is the difference between Suspend SC and Suspend Polyzone? Which one is newer?
I am a longtime customer and usually buy Suspend SC. I noticed they now make a Suspend Polyzone. I am trying to determine which one is better. I know they are made by the same company.
    A
Suspend Polyzone is the newer, better version of Suspend SC. Suspend Polyzone has a polymer added to its formulation that enable it to last 90 days outdoors and work better on porous surfaces. Suspend SC will only last about 30 days outdoors.

    Q
How often do you spray for roaches, once a week or more?
    A
To treat for roaches we recommend spraying once every 21 days with suspend and also using a roach bait like Maxforce FC magnum. Apply the bait once a week. You want to bait high and spray low. Bait around counter tops, appliances, cabinets, bathrooms, etc. Please view our article on roach treatment.

    Q
Is Suspend SC an effective way of killing fleas and flea eggs indoors?
I live oceanfront in N.C., and I am beginning to get a bit of a nasty flea infestation. My poor dog is being bombarded by many different species of fleas due to the area we live in. I am about to buy him K-9 Advantix for topical relief (unless you feel something is better), but I was wondering if Suspend SC is an effective way to kill the fleas in the house. We have a 6 month old baby and a 5 year old, so the safeness of the product is what drew me to it. Please tell me what you think.
    A
Suspend SC is not the best choice for indoor flea control because you can not broadcast spray it over carpeted areas. We recommend using Ultracide for indoor fleas. Ultracide is a very effective flea control aerosol that provides immediate kill of adult fleas and prevents formation of new adults from eggs or larvae. Ultracide is a very safe and effective flea control product that is used widely by professional companies such as Terminix and Orkin in homes with children and pets all the time.  You should only apply Ultracide to carpeted areas and upholstered areas.  Do not apply on top of couches and chairs where people rest their arms, fleas do not breed in these areas. You would want to spray around the foot of the furniture, and underneath couch cushions.  You should have children and pets in another room while you are treating.  After treatment, allow 30 minutes to dry and then it is perfectly safe for children and pets to re-enter the room. Vacuum immediately before the treatment and every other day for the next 14 days. A second treatment may be needed after 14 days for heavy infestations.

    Q
Will Suspend SC kill German roaches?
    A
Suspend SC is labeled for roaches, including German roaches, and should do a great job helping you eliminate the infestation. We recommend that in addition to a concentrated liquid insecticide like Suspend SC you also use a high quality roach bait gel such as Advion roach Bait Gel to help get the roaches that hide in places where you cannot spray (cabinets, counter tops, drawers) as well as an insect growth regulator such as Gentrol Point Source to help stop the breeding cycle of the roaches. You can purchase both of these products together in our Roach Control Kit #1.

    Q
Suspend SC & Gentrol mixed in sprayer...how do I dispose of excess.
There were no directions. What is the safest way to dispose of excess and can I wash the sprayer out in the sink.
    A
Leftover product can be poured out right up against the foundation of your home or structure. You should clean the sprayer outside and dump the rinse water in the same place you poured out the excess product. Product and rinse water cannot be poured down the drain.

    Q
Is Suspend SC safe to use on baseboards? We have a crawling toddler.
    A
Suspend SC is one of the safest and most effective products we sell, which is why it is so popular.  You should always have children and pets vacate the room while you are applying the product.  Once the product is dry, which usually takes about 30-45 minutes, it is fine to allow children and pets back in the room.  These products are only strong enough to kill tiny insects.

  • Asked by Paul from Caledonia, Illinois

    Q
Does Suspend SC kill wasps instantly and how does the residual work and for how long?
How often should it be applied as a house perimiter? When can results be expected for wasp elimination?
    A
Suspend SC does not provide an instant knockdown. Suspend SC will kill wasps and other insects over a period of several hours after they contact treated areas. Suspend SC will leave a residual that will last up to 4 weeks outdoors and up to 12 weeks indoors. If you can directly treat a wasp nest you can expect the colony to be eliminated within several days. If you cannot directly treat the nest you will only be able to eliminate those wasps that are landing on the treated areas and you may not be able to gain 100% control. If you are indeed treating outdoors and within 2 feet of your home you may want to consider using Termidor SC. Termidor SC is a bit different than Suspend SC in that it can be transferred back to the wasps nest and through their normal social interactions they will spread the product through the nest. This product can take a week or two to eliminate the nest and it does not offer an instant knockdown. If you prefer an instant knockdown we do carry Wasp Freeze and Wasp X.

    Q
Is Suspend SC a Non Repellent and Suspend Polyzone considered a repellent?
Can you please explain why Suspend SC is a non-repellent and Suspend Polyzone is a repellent as they both have the same active ingredient.
    A

Suspend SC and Suspend Polyzone are not considered a non repellent or a repellent. Deltamethrin, the active ingredient kill insects by direct contact of the areas that have been sprayed (wet or dry) or if they eat it (baits). It disrupts their normal nervous system function.

The "SC" in Suspend SC is for suspended concentrate. Suspend Polyzone uses the same active ingredient but has a polymer coating around the active ingredient to better withstand weather elements, rain, sun, heat better. Suspend SC lasts for 30 days outdoors and Suspend Polyzone lasts 90 days outdoors.
