Suspend SC is a very popular product for stink bugs and widely used by our customers. The key to stink bug control is to treat in the fall when the stink bugs normally look for entry into a home. Even more important is to make sure there are no cracks around windows or under doors. You should seal all cracks and holes with caulk or other suitable material to prevent entry from stink bugs and other pests during the fall and winter.
Suspend SC is labeled for roaches, and should do a great job helping you eliminate the infestation. We recommend that in addition to a concentrated liquid insecticide like Suspend SC you also use a high quality roach bait gel such as Invict Roach Bait Gel to help get the roaches that hide in places where you cannot spray (cabinets, counter tops, drawers) as well as an insect growth regulator such as Gentrol Point Source to help stop the breeding cycle of the roaches. You can purchase both of these products together in our Roach Control Kit #1.
The Suspend is a residual which means it will not be a contact kill for the roaches. It could kill a roach within a few hours or within a day depending on how healthy the roach is, and how long it spent on a surface that was treated with Suspend. The spray will typically last indoors 90 days and outdoors 30 days, but for an active infestation you would want to retreat every 30 days indoors until the colony is eliminated.
Suspend SC will not harm animals as long as it is used as directed. You will need to keep pets out of the area while you are applying the product and until it has dried completely. You may notice a reduction in the population of birds, snakes, and lizards over time, since Suspend SC will be killing the insects that are their food source, which will cause them to leave the area in order to find food elsewhere.
Yes, Suspend SC can be applied with a mist blower or a backpack sprayer.
No, Suspend SC cannot be used in a home to kill bird mites. Please check out our bird mite treatment page for tips and ideas on treating and preventing bird mites.
Suspend SC is a great option for bees and wasps. It is labeled for both. You will spray around the perimeter of your home, in the eaves, etc. where the pests would be. The mixing ratio is 0.75 fl. oz. per gallon of water. This product should not be sprayed on the concrete. Yes, you can spray the overhang of your house. Be sure to wear protective goggles when spraying above your head. For an instant kill of flying stinging insects, you may also want to consider a knockdown spray such as Wasp Freeze.
Our most popular product for Arizona residents is definitely our Demon WP. Suspend SC and many other products are also good, but not as strong as Demon. Since Demon WP is a powder that is mixed with water, it is easier for scorpions to pick up on their body and faster acting. Demon WP packs a punch which is what you need for the Arizona scorpions, spiders, and other insects. It is very effective, yet very safe around children and pets at the same time. It is a general use product that is labeled for all insects and is a great all around use product. You should re-apply the product every 30 to 60 days for best results.
