    Q
Does Suspend SC work for bed bugs?
    A
Suspend SC used to be the go to product for bed bug control. However, there have been signs that some strains of bed begs have become resistant to it since it has been used so much.  Still, bed bug control has much better success if you use a variety of products. Our bed bug kits have many products that are considered the top bed bug control products. Our kits also come with full instructions.  They have a very high success rate with our customers and your best chance of eliminating a bed bug infestation.

    Q
Will this stuff kill scorpions? I heard no pesticides are good for them.
    A
Suspend SC will kill scorpions. Many of our customers have had great success using Suspend SC for scorpions. However, our most popular product for killing scorpions is Cyper WPCyper WP is a stronger product and it is a powder that mixes with water.  Powders are easier for scorpions to pick up and faster acting. We have many customer reviews on our Cyper WP page about scorpions.

    Q
What should I use to treat mealybugs on cacti and succulents in a greenhouse?
What can I use for a dip on infested plants and a spray for long term control. The greenhouse is 4000sq ft. and houses many cacti and succulent plants (all potted)?
    A
While we do carry products for mealybugs, our expertise leans more towards structural pests and turf pests. We recommend that you contact your local cooperative extension office or a horticulturist that specializes in cacti and succulents for advice on which product would work best in your situation. If you cannot find the recommended product on our site please let us know, we will be happy to see if we can get it for you.

  • Asked by Kathy from Twin Mountain, Nh
    08/18/2011
    Q
On a "true" log home what is best in the treatment of cluster flies...Suspend SC or Cypermethrin?
The home is in northern NH. I think I should spray all the logs real soon as cooler nights are around the corner. I try to keep up with caulking around the doors and windows as well as between the logs. Any other suggestions?
    A
Suspend SC is considered to be better for outdoors than cypermethrin because it will last much longer than cypermethrin does outdoors.  Cypermethrin does have a stronger initial knockdown, but will break down much quicker in UV light and heat than Suspend.  Typically Cypermethrin will only give about 30 days of protection whereas Suspend SC can give 60 to 90 days before needing to be re-applied.

  • Asked by Bryan from Raleigh, Nc

    Q
Can Suspend SC be used in my truck to kill spiders that have nested? How safe is it for such a small area?
    A
Suspend SC is actually labeled for use in trucks but the label most likely intends it to be used in commercial trucks and only in the cargo areas of these trucks. We recommend that you use a product such as D-Force Aerosol. D-Force is actually labeled for use on the interior of buses and recreational vehicles and it is labeled for spiders. Be sure to keep treatments to cracks and crevices only and vent the vehicle for about an hour before re-entry.

    Q
I have a home with 2 cats and they have fleas
Even though I use flea drops monthly since March. Have fogged with HotShot twice. Started using Suspend 1 1/2 weeks ago, sprayed the whole house (no carpets in home) the basement, attic, main living area and continue to spray every other day. I have been using flea shampoo and the flea spray product Petcor once a week, still I have fleas. HELP!! The fleas are less but not gone. The cats are being kept inside for a month now. I don't know what else to do
    A

The main thing to know when dealing with fleas is that there is no overnight fix for them, it can take multiple applications to completely eliminate them sometimes 2-3 treatments or more.  You also want to make sure that you are following the instructions on the product labels that you are using.  Suspend SC is not labeled to be used anymore often than once every 21 days.   Per the product label for indoor applications, you should also only apply as a coarse, low pressure crack and crevice spot treatment to problem areas and infested habitats. Do not treat entire floor, carpet or floor coverings. Do not apply as a space spray. Application to furniture should be restricted to areas where prolonged contact by humans will not occur. Care should be taken to limit spot treatment to pet beds and infested floor coverings.  Suspend SC would not be a good choice for indoor flea control because it can not be used over carpeted areas, it must be kept to cracks and crevices only.

For indoors, we would highly recommend our Indoor Flea Kit.  It is our most popular product for indoor flea control and is usually the final treatment that people end up using that works when they have tried everything else.

Suspend would be the best option. You can apply this indoors and outdoors. It is safe to spray around the perimeter of the building 2-3 feet up and out as well as any crawlspace. Suspend SC leaves no visible residue, has virtually no odor, and won't clog spray equipment.

    Q
What to use where you have wood floors and want to make sure you get no bugs?
I have just put wood floors thoughout the house. I have purchased Suspend to spray in the house, but I am afraid to spray and stain the floors what product would you suggest I use to keep out bugs
    A
Suspend should be safe to spray any place where it is safe to spray water since it is a water based insecticide. We still recommend that you spray a small inconspicuous area to test for staining.  We would also like you to note that Suspend is only labeled to be used in cracks and crevices and should not be used as a broadcast spray over hardwood floors. We also recommend spraying Suspend around the outside perimeter 2-3 feet up and out.

    Q
Is Suspend SC the best spray for killing roaches outdoors with pets? Also to kill ants indoors and outdoors.
    A

Suspend SC would be a great choice as an exterior spray for roaches and ants but should not be the sole product for treatment. We recommend mixing an IGR with Suspend SC and also baiting for roaches and ants. Please click the links below for product recommendations.
