Vacuuming is just as important to carpet beetle elimination as it is to prevention. While liquid and dust insecticides may successfully kill off the adult and larvae stages, they can not kill eggs and pupae. Vacuuming is an effective way to kill these hard-to-eliminate life stages of carpet beetles. When vacuuming, be sure to do so every couple of days while you work your elimination plan. Vacuum over carpeted areas several times and use attachments as need to cover furniture and draperies. Eggs may be hiding in these places as well. Even if you do not reach every egg and pupae with the vacuum, don't worry. Your odorless insecticide such as Suspend SC will still be working, and eventually there will be no more surviving adults to lay more eggs and you will see the end of your problem! You could also apply Drione Dust using a hand duster only after Suspend SC has application had completely dried. Dust should be applied with a hand duster into all cracks and crevices where the spray cannot penetrate. This birth control for insects can be added directly to your liquid insecticide solution (Suspend SC) in the sprayer before spraying. That way you will apply two insecticides at once. While Suspend kills the adult carpet beetles, the Gentrol IGR will kill off the larvae so they are unable to fully develop.
Suspend SC could be used but if the bees contact a treated surface they will be harmed by the product. Care should be taken to avoid overspray/drift from contacting the hives as well as applying to plants/flowers that the bees would contact.
Suspend SC is labeled for bees. It can be broadcast across the lawn for ground bees. Be sure to spray at night so that they do not attack.
Suspend SC does have toxicity to aquatic life, so you want to be sure that runoff or drift does not enter the fish pond. We would recommend spraying when rainfall is not expected within at least 24 hours. You could also consider a product near the pond that does not have aquatic toxicity such as EcoVia EC.
Suspend SC can safely be applied to Myoporum when used as directed. Dilute at .5-1oz per gallon.
Suspend SC is labeled to treat for Chinch bugs, however, you cannot apply it to all areas needed to get rid of Chinch Bugs. Please check out our Chinch Bug Guide. Here you will find the most effective products and tips to eradicate Chinch Bugs.
You should mix .25-1.5 fl oz (depending on the targeted insect-they are listed on the label) of Suspend SC per one gallon of water per 1,000 sq ft and treat the areas surrounding the driveway but not directly on the driveway. You will apply the product to areas listed on the product label only. Suspend SC should not be used to treat termites. Please see our Termite Treatment Guide for this pest.
Suspend SC is only labeled to be applied every 21-30 days outdoors. To treat for fleas outdoors, you will mix 1.5 fluid ounces per gallon of water per 1,000 sq ft. We strongly recommend that you also add an insect growth regulator (IGR) to the mix to impede their reproduction. Pivot 10 would be a great choice. Please take a look at our Outdoor Flea Control Guide for more tips on treating and preventing fleas.
Depending on the mix rate you are needing for Suspend SC, the amount of finished solution coverage will vary.
1 Pint (16 oz.) of Suspend SC concentrate yields 10-64 gallons of finished solution, depending on mixing rate used. 1 Gallon (128 oz) of concentrate yields 85 to over 500 gallons of finished solution. One gallon of finished solution should cover approximately 1,000 square feet.
Please check the product label for the pest you are treating for specific dilution rates.
Suspend SC should be mixed at 0.25-1.5 fl oz per gallon of water. It is not recommended to use a quart size bottle.
Yes,Suspend SC is labeled for roaches, and should do a great job helping you eliminate the infestation. We recommend that in addition to a concentrated liquid insecticide like Suspend SC you also use a high quality roach bait gel to help get the roaches that hide in places where you cannot spray (cabinets, counter tops, drawers) as well as an insect growth regulator such as Gentrol Point Source to help stop the breeding cycle of the roaches if found indoors. Suspend SC is a residual which means it will not be a contact kill for the roaches. It could kill a roach within a few hours or within a day depending on how healthy the roach is, and how long it spent on a surface that was treated with Suspend. The spray will typically last indoors 90 days and outdoors 30 days, but for an active infestation you would want to retreat every 30 days indoors until the colony is eliminated.
Suspend SC will kill most strains of bed bugs. However, we do not recommend Suspend any longer. There are resistant strains of bed bugs Suspend will not kill. We recommend using Temprid SC, because it will treat pyrethroid resistantbed bugs and using double killing power of two different active ingredients. Temprid SC also has a very broad application label. Please take a moment to look at our bed bug kits which have many products that are considered the top bed bug control products. Our kits also come with full instructions. They have a very high success rate with our customers and your best chance of eliminating a bed bug infestation.
Suspend SC can be mixed at 12.5-37.5 fl oz per 50 gallons for general pest applications. Please refer to the product label for specific application instructions.
Suspend SC cannot be used in any fogger. It is not listed for indoor flea applications as it is applied to cracks and crevices only. We do carry products that can be used for indoor and outdoor flea treatments in our Flea Control Kit. Please take a few moments to review our treatment article on How to Get Rid of Fleas for a successful eradication program.
Suspend SC can be applied at 0.25-0.75 fl oz per gallon for carpet beetles to listed cracks and crevices indoors.
Suspend SC or any other product that we carry should not be applied in the exhaust fan outlet or interior fan.
Suspend SC should not discolor the baseboards but we recommend testing a small, inconspicous area first to be completely sure.
Suspend SC works great for an interior crack and crevice perimeter spray for a 90 day control and outside for a monthly control for roaches and other insects. If you have noticed them indoors, please take a few moments to review our treatment article/videos on How to Get Rid of Roaches for a successful program using a combination of products and non-chemical methods. We also offer Roach Control Kits.
ExciteR Pyrethrin Concentrate would be a fantatsic product to use and mix in with the Suspend SC to give you contact kill with your residual control. You typically use between 0.5and 1 oz per gallon of water for Exciter.
