    Q
Do you need to mix Ultracide with any other products such as Suspend to kill adults and egg larvae?
    Fleas in house
    A

Ultracide is a ready to use aerosol can that contains an insecticide and insect growth regulator.  You do not need to also use Suspend SC, which cannot be used on carpets inside so is not recommended for inside flea control.  We do have a great guide here on "How to Get Rid of Fleas" that will give helpful advice on what should be done.

    Q
How much Suspend SC goes in a 1 quart sized sprayer?
    A

It is not recommended to use a quart size container with this product. Suspend SC is mixed at 0.25-1.5 fl oz per gallon of water in a hand pump sprayer for applications to listed areas (on the product label) for targeted pests. Suspend SC offers a monthly exterior residual and a quarterly interior residual.

    Q
Can Therminex be used indoors, in my crawl space?
    A

I'm sorry, but I am unsure exactly what product it is you are inquiring about. If you are asking about using Termidor SC in crawl spaces, then the answer is that you can if you are treating a live infestation of termites, or you are doing a trenching treatment for the prevention of termites. You cannot use Termidor in a crawl space or otherwise indoors for a topical spray for ants. You can use Suspend SC for treatment in a crawl space or crack and crevice/spot treatment indoors for surface pests.

  • Asked by Wes from Moore
    01/02/2018
    Q
Which is better to use both inside and outside my home in the winter time, Talstar or Suspend SC?
    A

Both the Suspend SC and the Talstar P contain synthetic pyrethroids for active ingredients and will provide very similar results. The only advantage to using Talstar P over Suspend SC is that it is known to be super gentle on most plants (do not use on edible vegetation) and is virtually odorless, while Suspend SC does have a slight odor. Both products can be used indoors and outdoors and both products are safe to use in houses with children and pets. Keep in mind that you will not need to treat in winter months if you are in a cold area (temperatures consistently below 40 degrees) unless you currently have a specific pest infestation.

  • Asked by Mike from Pennsylvania
    02/01/2018
    Q
Can I spray Suspend SC directly on animal mounts like deer heads, bears, etc.?
    A

Unfortunately, we cannot recommend using Suspend SC or any other insecticides directly on animal mounts. You could use Suspend SC as a crack and crevice spray in the room where they are present, but we would not recommend spraying them directly. If you would like to tell us more about what pest you are treating, then we may be able to give you more specific treatment advice.

  • Asked by Tim from Barrington, Ri
    02/03/2018
    Q
Can Suspend SC be applied directly to the bark of my tree for gypsy moths?
    A

Suspend SC  is labeled for Gypsy moth larvae, but we would recommend a product like Monterey Garden Insect Spray. Using an insect spray containing Spinosad is the most effective way to treat for this type of caterpillar. When sprayed on the foliage, this products works by poisoning the caterpillars feeding on the leaves.

  • Asked by James from Columbus, Oh
    05/11/2018
    Q
Is Suspend SC a good choice for eliminating scales in a tree? If not, what would you recommend?
    A

Suspend SC is labeled for scale insects when they are still in the "crawler" stage. If the scale insects on your plants are past this stage or if you are not sure what stage they are in we recommend you contact your local cooperative extension office and speak to the mater gardener on staff. The master gardener can help with an accurate insect ID and also offer guidance on what will work best on the type of plant and insect you are dealing with.

  • Asked by Lori from Amherstburg
    05/30/2018
    Q
Will Suspend SC bleach or leave marks on vinyl siding?
    A

Suspend SC is a water based insecticide that should not stain anything that water itself would not stain. Having said that we always recommend that you test any product you choose on a small inconspicuous area to be sure staining will not occur. Sometimes old paint can be an issue when using any product.

  • Asked by Ken from Loganville, Ga
    06/19/2018
    Q
Will Suspend SC harm frogs at my home?
Will it kill the food supply for the frogs? What are other options to get rid of spiders and not the frogs. I also have salamanders that I like. Do not want to chase them away.
    A

Suspend SC could harm amphibians if they were sprayed directly with the product. You should not apply Suspend SC in a way that would contaminate water containing aquatic life. This is a non-selective insecticide, so it will kill flying insects that are sprayed directly or which contact the treated areas, including flies which would be desirable to frogs and other amphibians. If you are reducing the flying insect population, then these predators may go elsewhere to find food. If you would like to use an insecticide that is safer around aquatic areas, then Essentria IC3 is a great choice.
