Mixed Suspend SC solution must be used or discarded within 24 hours.
Suspend SC should not be applied as a broadcast across carpet or flooring as it is only labeled to be used as an interior crack and crevice spray. When this product is applied according to the product label it is safe for pets and people once it has had time to completely dry.
Suspend SC does have toxicity to aquatic life, so you want to be sure that runoff or drift does not enter where fish are present. We would recommend spraying when rainfall is not expected within at least 24 hours and applying at least 25 ft. from the lake. You might also consider using a product that does not have aquatic toxicity, such as EcoVia EC.
Yes, Suspend SC can be mixed with an IGR.
There are no temperature restrictions for applying Suspend SC.
It is best to triple rinse any equipment used to make an application of an insecticide such as Suspend SC? prior to using the sprayer for any other chemical application. Simply use warm water to rinse out the tank and spray through the wand. Repeat this 3 times prior to adding new chemical to the sprayer. You could also use a tank cleaner such as Monterey Spray Tank Cleaner.
Suspend SC is great at killing most insects, including fleas, but it is not labeled to apply all over floor coverings which is normally what is required for treating fleas. We do have an Indoor Flea and Tick Kit which can also be used indoors. This is our most popular flea control product. In addition to applying this indoors if there is an issue, you should have your pets treated.
Suspend SC can be used around pregnant women. However, we recommend that you stay out of the treated area until it has completely dried. If you feel as though it has caused other effects on you, we suggest you follow up with your doctor.
No Suspend SC? should not be mixed with Temprid FX. ? Doing so can change the products formulations and effectiveness. Only products that are labeled to mixed together with an insecticide can do so, like Archer IGR? or Exciter insecticide.
Suspend SC can kill beneficial insects like bees and butterflies if they contact a treated surface long enough to receive a lethal dose and is labeled for asian lady beetles aka lady bugs. It is not really selective in the insects it kills.
Yes, rotating insecticides is a good idea to prevent resistance although this normally takes years to happen. Some customers rotate every year or when they start to notice the product may not be working as well as it once did. It would not hurt to use another active ingredient. A great alternative to Suspend SC is Talstar P.
Yes, Suspend SC is labeled for ticks and can be applied to lawns and landscaped areas. For more information on tick control and the products we offer, please click on the link below:
Yes, you can use D-Fense SC. It contains the same active ingredient as Suspend SC and is not restricted in New York.
Suspend SC is not a systemic product. It is not labeled for use on any type of edible vegetation.
For best results, Suspend SC should be applied to dry surfaces.
When looking to tank mix products like an insecticide and herbicide together, you want to follow the most restrictive labeling of the two and be sure that anywhere you may be looking to get insect control is not close to any desirable vegetation like bushes when its mixed with your weed control product. For lawn pests like ants, millipedes, and fleas it would be safe to mix the two so long as you keep the herbicide away from any plants it could harm around the lawn if drift were to occur. In those areas we would recommend only using the Suspend by itself.
Since both products contain synthetic pyrethroids there is no valid reason to mix Suspend SC and Tempo together, it would not make either product work better or produce better results, though it could make treated areas repellent to insects lessening the effectiveness of the treatment.
Suspend SC could harm amphibians if they were sprayed directly with the product. You should not apply Suspend SC in a way that would contaminate water containing aquatic life. This is a non-selective insecticide, so it will kill flying insects that are sprayed directly or which contact the treated areas, including flies which would be desirable to frogs and other amphibians. If you are reducing the flying insect population, then these predators may go elsewhere to find food. If you would like to use an insecticide that is safer around aquatic areas, then Essentria IC3 is a great choice.
Suspend SC would be a great product to use for millipedes. We also have some guides here for treating.
No, you’ve been treating too often and with too much product. The main thing to know when dealing with fleas is that there is no overnight fix for them, it can take multiple applications to completely eliminate them sometimes 2-3 treatments or more. You also want to make sure that you are following the instructions on the product labels that you are using. Suspend SC is not labeled to be used anymore often than once every 21 days. Per the product label for indoor applications, you should also only apply as a coarse, low pressure crack and crevice spot treatment to problem areas and infested habitats. Do not treat entire floor, carpet or floor coverings. Do not apply as a space spray. Application to furniture should be restricted to areas where prolonged contact by humans will not occur. Care should be taken to limit spot treatment to pet beds and infested floor coverings. Suspend SC would not be a good choice for indoor flea control because it can only be used over cracks and crevices. For indoors, we would highly recommend our Indoor Flea Kit. It is our most popular product for indoor flea control and is usually the final treatment that people end up using that works when they have tried everything else. Please read over our Flea Treatment Guide, refer to section 2.2.
