Talstar P Professional Insecticide is not labeled for use in or around edible crops. We would recommend using Fertilome Triple Action for squash vine borers. This product is an insecticide, fungicide and miticide all in one. This can be used up until the day of harvest.
You can use Talstar P to treat the area where you will be stacking up your firewood, wait for it to dry and then stack the wood. There are also instructions on the label, on page 4, to use 1 oz per gallon of water and use a gallon per 8 square feet to spray and drench the soil where the firewood will be stacked to protect the firewood from carpenter ants and termites as well. Talstar P is labeled to help control beetles, pillbugs, and many other pests. Please read the product label for complete application instructions.
Yes, Talstar P is labeled for and will help eliminate bees. To use Talstar P for carpenter bee control you should mix 1 oz of Talstar per 1 gallon of water and spray the areas where you have noticed activity such as the eaves, fascia boards, moldings, overhangs, or siding. You should reapply the Talstar P once a month through the warm season for the best results. Please note that Talstar P will not offer an instant knockdown of insects, it will take several minutes to a few hours for them to die after they come into contact with treated areas. We also recommend dusting the carpenter bee holes with dust such as Tempo Dust to help kill any larva inside. Do not plug the holes for at least 30 days after dusting to prevent the developing larva from drilling a new hole to exit.

As for the diatomaceous earth that is fine as long as the product label states it can be used in that manner. For the bait, as long as you keep the bait contained in a station, you can use just about any type. Advion Cockroach Bait Arena is a great option. You just don't want it to come in contact with the vegetables.

Talstar P Professional Insecticide will only affect the caterpillars that come in contact with the residual. If you cannot spray higher up where the caterpillars are, it will not affect them

Yes, rotating insecticides is a good idea to prevent resistance however this normally takes years to happen. Some customer rotate every year or when they start to notice the product may not be working as well as it did in the beginning. It would not hurt to use another active ingredient for your next treatment, a great alternative to Talstar is Suspend SC. Mix 1.5oz Suspend SC with 1 gallon of water along with the Archer IGR for Mosquito control
Talstar P is safe for pets if used as directed. Pets need to be kept out of the area during application and can return to the area once it is dry.
Bat bugs are treated very similarly to bed bugs. Bats are their preferred host, but this does not negate them from humans. They do tend to come once the bats are gone because they are looking for a host. We would recommend using Temprid FX as a treatment for the rooms. You will mix 16 mL per gallon of water and treat in the room that has the bugs as well as all the surrounding rooms to prevent them from spreading. This will be applied with a pump sprayer. You will do this every 10-14 days until you do not see any activity for 30 days. We would also recommend using Cimexa Dust in the wall voids. You will do a couple of puffs per wall outlet and light plate with a hand duster. You will do this in all the wall voids of the home.
