Talstar P (Talstar One) cannot be sprayed as a broadcast on carpet, it is strictly a crack and crevice application along baseboards, under cabinets, behind appliances, around windows, doors, etc.
While the product will not hurt the carpet, Talstar P is not labeled to be broadcast sprayed over carpeted areas for carpet beetle control. Talstar P can only be used as a crack and crevice application indoors. For indoor carpet beetle control you may want to consider a product such as Nyguard Plus. This product contains an insecticide to kill the roaming adults and an insect growth regulator to stop the harder to kill immature beetles from reaching a reproductive state which in turn will break the cycle of infestation. As an added bonus this product also contains a deodorizer for carpet applications.
Talstar P Professional Insecticide can be applied once a month outside when used as the higher rate of 1 oz per gallon. At the lower rate of 0.5 fl oz it can be applied every 7 days as directed on the label.
Talstar Pis is the #1 recommended product for bagworm control. You will need to use 1 oz. of Talstar per gallon of water. Applications should start in April and continue monthly through June. Be sure foliage is sprayed thoroughly to the point of runoff to achieve adequate coverage. For more information on this pest, please check out this article here.
Martins Surrender Fire Ant Killer would be a great product for you, as you can treat individual mounds as well as your potted plants.

We would recommend putting Talstar P Professional Insecticide into a Tip n Pour Measuring Bottle to ensure it stays properly sealed & stored.
Talstar P is not labeled for this treatment type. You may want to consider using a product such as Quasar 8.5 SL which is labeled for GWSS and basal bark applications. Basal bark treatments are not effective on older trees greater than six inches in diameter or trees with very thick bark. You would not want to use both Taurus SC and Talstar P on top of one another. It is never necessary to use more then one insecticide as it can have a reverse effect and detour the targeted pests from the area. Talstar P is our most common insecticide for general pest control. Taurus SC is our top recommendation for pest control and while it is labeled for other pests as well, Talstar has a broader label. If you would like to use both products you can use Talstar P inside your home along baseboards and cracks and crevices. Taurus SC is only labeled for outdoor use so you can apply Taurus around the perimeter of your home. Please let us know if you need any further information. We are always happy to help.
Yes, Talstar P Insecticide is fine to use with diatomaceous earth. Talstar can help reduce the number of springtails. For indoor control be sure to spray along the baseboards, window frames, door frames, piping like under the bathroom and kitchen sink, etc. As for outdoor control you should spray 2 to 3 feet up the side of the house and 2 to 3 feet out on the ground. Springtails can be tough to eliminate because they reproduce very quickly. In almost every case where people have springtails they also have a moisture problem such as a leaking or sweating pipe, poor ventilation in their crawl space, lots of wet mulch right up next to their house, etc. You must locate and correct the moisture problem to get rid of the spring tails, as insecticides alone will not do the job.
You can apply Talstar P with a hand pump sprayer or a hose-end sprayer. Either applicator will work fine and it really boils down to personal preference. If you are treating a large yard it may be more convenient to use a hose end sprayer to avoid constantly refilling a smaller hand pump sprayer.
You cannot use Talstar for grub control as it is not on the label. You are able to apply other insecticides before or after applying Milky Spore Lawn Spreader Mix but we would suggest waiting 2-3 days between applications. We do have other several products that are specifically labeled for grub worms on our website: Grub Worm Control. We also recommend that you contact your local cooperative extension office and inquire about the best time to start treatments for grubs in your region.
