    What is the best product for fleas infestation on dry lawn, dirt perimeter of house?
    What is the best flea fighter for outdoor use on dry lawn, dirt surrounding the house? Also, please advise a product for indoor use on carpet and bare floor.
    A
    The best products for flea control outdoors would be Talstar P mixed with NyGuard IGR. The Talstar is the insecticide that will kill the fleas and leave a residual, and the NyGuard is the birth control that will halt the infestation from growing. Mix these in your sprayer together with water and spray any areas outdoors where you are having a problem with fleas or any other insect. For indoor control, you would use Ultracide which is a flea aerosol. It comes ready to use and has both the adulticide and igr (birth control) to provide you with the same type of control indoors as you have outdoors. You will need to go through and vacuum all flooring and furniture prior to using the product. Once vacuumed, use the Ultracide to spray down all carpets, hardwoods, baseboards, rugs, pet bedding and furniture to eliminate the fleas. After application you will leave the home until the product has had time to dry which normally takes about an hour or so. Once dry, all pets, children and adults can re-enter the home and resume normal activity. You will need to vacuum daily for 14 days and then do a second application of the Ultracide.     Since you have tried baits and the ants are not taking it, we recommend to use a residual spray. We would recommend Talstar P. It works extremely well, dries clear, is non-staining and non-irritating, and you have a much wider usage area. Talstar can be sprayed around the foundation of the home, along walkways and driveways, on ornamentals/trees/lawns for insect control as well as indoors around baseboards and crevices. Please follow the product label for application.

    Talstar P is specifically labeled (page 4 of the product label) for a number of medically significant spiders including Black Widow, Brown Recluse and Hobo Spiders. It is important to remember that Talstar P does not give an immediate knockdown. It works over a period of several hours to kill spiders that have come into contact with the product.  You should also do your part by making your property less favorable to spiders.     Does Talstar P come in a smaller bottle?
    Is it possible to get it in a smaller quantity? It will work perfectly for us here in Washington state (flea's and spiders) but it's a bit pricey because it's such a big bottle.

    The Talstar comes in 4 sizes and you did not mention which size you are seeing on our site. You can purchase it in either a Pint, Quart, 3/4 Gallon or Gallon size container.     How long will Talstar P remain effective once I have mixed up a batch of it in the sprayer bottle?
    I am also wondering if I can add some garlic oil concentrate to the Talstar without hurting it's effectiveness. Trying to get rid of mosquitoes in the yard.

    We recommend to use mixed solution within 24 hours of mixing. To ensure maximum effectiveness. We are not familiar with garlic oil extract. We would recommend mixing ExciteR in with Talstar to help provide a more swift intense kill.

    I applied Talstar on the my shed and the paper wasps did not die after contacting the treated areas.

    Paper wasps and other insects will not be eradicated on contact when coming into contact with areas treated with Talstar. It does taken some time for the insects to die. Please click on the link below for additional information on treatment for paper wasps.

    I didn't water before applying Talstar, what should i do?
    I failed to first irrigate BEFORE applying Talstar. Should I do it now (afterward) or should I redo the treatment (this time following the directions!). Thanks!

    Depending on the insect you are treating for some you should irrigate before treatment and some you shouldnt. If it's a lawn infesting pest like mole crickets or chinch bugs, it helps get the product to the level of the insects in the lawn by irrigating first to pull them closer to the surface. Since you will have to do a retreatment in a few weeks anyways, just let the application you put down do its job and irrigate before your next treatment. Irrigating after spraying will only wash the product away. Please let us know if you have any other questions.

    Can Talstar P be used to spray under homes/buildings for flea infestation?
    I have a flea infestation in my yard and under my home. The fleas are now coming into my home. Should I spray in the afternoon or early in the morning when the dew is still fresh?

    Yes, you can use Talstar p, but we also recommend using an IGR like Nyguard IGR that will help to break down the reproductive process. You want to make your application when the grass is wet. Please review our Flea Control page as well.

    Do you have anything that works on Argentina ants?

    We have many products that will work great on Argentine ants. We normally recommend if they are coming inside your home to use our Complete Ant Kit. This provides both a protein(granular) and sugar(gel) bait for the ants to find when foraging that they take back and feed to the colony to eliminate it at the source. Once they are no longer in the home and the colony is all gone, you can use the Talstar as a general barrier and lawn spray to keep any new ones from congregating or coming in the home. If you do not currently have them in your home and just outdoors, you can use the Talstar to keep them from coming in and any area you spray that an ant comes into contact with will kill them.     Talstar P can be safely used around children and pets as long as you follow the label instructions; all children and pets need to be out of the area while the application is being made and they can return as soon as the application is dry.

    Yes, Talstar P will kill ticks. We also recommend mixing in an IGR to help break down the reporductive cycle. You can use something like Nyguard IGR. You would mix 1 oz Talstar with 3-8 ml Nyguard IGR into one gallon water.

    Can Talstar P be applied using a pressure washing system rather than a misting backpack sprayer?

    We recommend using the 1 fl oz of Talstar P per gallon of water ratio for the fastest knockdown and the longest lasting residual. As for using it in the pressure washer, we really cannot give any advice on that type of application as most insecticide (if not all) are not labeled for use in pressure washer.

    Can Talstar be sprayed on outdoor patio chairs?

    For outdoor treatments you can use Talstar P. You can spray your front and back yard but you cannot spray your patio furniture. Patio furniture should be washed with soap and water and allowed to dry in the sun.
