Taurus SC Termiticide is generally mixed at 0.8 fl oz per gallon of water depending on the target pest and application.
Yes, Taurus SC is a great option for treating the foundation around the exterior of the home for carpenter ants. For complete indoor control of Carpenter Ants, we would suggest the Indoor Carpenter Ant Kit that comes with Temprid Ready Spray for along the baseboards, a sweet bait and protein bait.
Taurus SC is not labeled for lawn use or any use away from the structure. You would need to apply around the perimeter of the structure, one foot up and one foot away. You would mix at the same dilution ratio .8 oz per gallon per 1,000 sqft and treat once every 6 months.
Taurus SC Termiticide is NOT labeled for indoor general pest control. The Taurus SC Termiticide product label only allows indoor applications to wall voids (behind sheet rock), unfinished attics, unfinished basements, and crawlspaces for active termite infestations. Taurus SC Termiticide could be harmful if used indoors and would be in violation of the product label. We would recommend using Phantom indoors as an alternative.
Taurus SC Termiticide should only be applied around the outside perimeter of a strurcture, 1 foot up and 1 foot out. You do not want to apply anywhere where it could run off into lake. It is toxic to aquatic life. Be sure that the application is at least 15 feet from lake.
When trenching with Taurus SC Termiticide, you should dig a 6" wide by 6" deep trench directly against the foundation of the exterior walls. Be sure to read our Liquid Termite Treatment article for full directions.
Taurus SC Termiticide cannot be applied to the ground for yellow jackets, only on a building in the eaves where they may nest or try to enter a structure. A better option for ground control on lawns if needed would be something like Tempo SC Ultra.
Taurus SC Termiticide is not labeled for mosquitoes and cannot be used out on the yard or on ornamental plants where you will need to treat for mosquito control. We would recommend to use Talstar P instead. For heavy mosquito control, you can add Tekko IGR and ExciteR Insecticide to your solution, to stump their life cycle and get a quick knockdown on active mosquitoes. We recommend reading over our Mosquito Treatment Guide for further tips and information.
The Taurus SC Termiticide is labeled for yellow jackets and can be sprayed in eaves and around openings to help eliminate them, but we cannot recommend to use the Tuarus SC Termiticide on cat food as you would the Onslaught as it would be off the product label.
Taurus SC is not labeled for fleas. Fleas tend to live in moist shady areas out in the yard where pets or other animals spend a lot of time resting. Taurus SC however is only labeled to be used in very limited areas on or immediately next to the house or structure making it mostly ineffective for flea treatments. We recommend you use our Outdoor Flea & Tick Kit to get rid of fleas in and around your home.
Taurus SC Termiticide will work for most species of ants but it is not specifically labeled for leaf cutter ants. We believe the reason leaf cutter ants were not included on the label is because most people do not have leaf cutter ants on their homes or trying to gain access to their homes and Taurus SC Termiticide
is only allowed to be used on or immediately around a structure not around trees. Leaf cutter ants can be a difficult pest to get rid of. The colonies are large and the ants make their own food so poison baits only have limited effects on this species of ants. According to several university websites Maxforce Complete Granules containing hydramethlynon are some what effective, though they will usually eliminate only about 30% of a large colony in one treatment and will need to be reapplied several times. DeltaGard Granules is one of the only products actually labeled for leaf cutter ants. The product label recommends treating the mound directly and lightly watering the granules in. Again, it may take several treatments to get the desired results. We also recommend contacting your local cooperative extension office to see if they have any recommendations for products that have worked for other people in your region.
Yes, you can! You do not need a license to purchase and/or use Taurus SC around your home in California. You would need a license if you are wanting to use this product around someone else's home for profit.

You will want to measure the lineal feet around the exterior of the structure for the amount of Taurus SC Termiticide that you will need. It is not measured in square footage for these barrier applications. A 78 oz bottle of Taurus SC Termiticide will treat 240 lineal feet (makes 100 gallons of solution).
Taurus SC Termiticide should not be a lawn treatment outdoors but can be applied 1 ft up and 1 ft out around the exterior of the structure. For more information on outdoor flea applications, please refer to our treatment article.

Taurus SC can only be applied within one foot of a structure and cannot be broadcast, so it is not the best choice for treating grubs or any insects that moles might be feeding on. A better choice would be something like Dominion 2L.

Once you have completed the trenching application, the product will remain active for up to 10 years. You may want to take a look at our Termite Treatment Guide if you have not already done so.
Per the manufacturer, since Taurus SC was only sprayed around the foundation, one foot away from the blueberry plants and you've already skipped one growing season, it is safe for you to harvest and eat your blueberries this year. Taurus SC is not a systemic and does not move through the plant.
