    Q
Before ordering can Taurus SC be apply if the trench is still muddy?
after-digging a trench it’s fill up will water I vac the water out of trench. I want trench already be dug out before ordering and receiving Taurus sc. Sometime it it rain here couple day and we have a 3-4 day day break before it rain again. I was trying to get Taurus sc in ground before that 24 or 48 hr break before it rain again
    A

You would not want the soil to be overly muddy or saturated at the time of application. If heavy rains have come through, give some time for the soil to dry out to some degree, but it does not have to be fully dry. You can then apply the Taurus and it will bond to the soil over the next 6-8 hours after application.

    Q
    Taurus driving ants inside somehow?
Every summer I had a long line of odorous ants marching on the fence that is close to the outside of my house that I've never been able to get rid of. I tried all sorts of bait and they'd take it, but the ants kept coming. This stuff completely made them disappear after 1 day. I don't see a single ant. However, for the first time I started getting ants inside. Is it possible that wiping them out outside drove them inside somehow?
    A

Taurus SC is a non repellent so is not detected by insects and would not make them go inside when applied outside. We suggest taking a look at our Indoor Ant Kit and following the steps in our Ant Control Guide here.

    Q
We used esfenvalerate 3.48% to treat the exterior for ants, Roaches and other pests. Can I just use Taurus SC?
Use Taurus SC instead to kill most household pests or should I use both?
    A

We would recommend waiting at least 30 days to apply Taurus SC Termiticide in an area you have applied an esfenvalerate product.  Taurus would be a better option if social insects like ants and roaches are a concern but only sprayed outside for general pests.  You can use the esfenvalerate product inside for additional protection with Taurus outside.

    Q
Can I use Taurus SC in a trench around the house and then use insecticide granules for termites in the crawlspace?
Crawlspace a few days later. Or will it counteract and make neither one work.
    A

Taurus SC should be applied as directed against the foundation in a trench and/or drilled holes in the concrete. We are not aware of any termite granules labeled for inside the crawlspace. Here is a guide on subterranean applications for more information with videos and our pro tips.

    Q
What needs to be done when applying Taurus SC for termites at a school?
    A

We apologize but cannot comment on that other than to say to use as directed on the Taurus SC Termiticide product label. Every county has a list of approved insecticides to use inside schools and daycares. You should contact your local department of agriculture to get a copy of the approved product list for your county and ap. We apologize but are unable to make a recommendation for this reason

    Q
I have heard people use Taurus SC on wood decks to help prevent carpenter bees from damaging their decks?
    Will it work?
    A

Taurus SC is labeled for carpenter bees but is limited in where it can be applied and would not be sprayed across the top surface at all.  For prevention and/or control please take a look at the Label on how to apply on decks.

    Q
Do you have to dig a trench with Taurus SC Termiticide? Your treating all the soil anyway, seems like extra work for treating
    A

Yes, in order to have a complete preventative barrier, trenching is necessary and so is treating the backfill with your solution of Taurus SC. If you do not treat the trenched area, you risk leaving gaps that are not treated where termites could pass through and not be affected by the chemical. Please review our Subterranean Termite Treatment Guide for further tips and information that may fit your needs.

Will Taurus SC Termiticide mess up paint on a car?
    A

Taurus SC Termiticide should only be used as directed on the product label. You should avoid any droplets of product contacting your car when doing a perimeter spray application around the foundation of your house, in case there may be a reaction with the car's paint.  You can contact the manufacturer directly for clarification and technical support by calling 800.242.5562 or by emailing them at [email protected].

    Q
Can Taurus SC Termiticide be used on permanent concrete/brick foundation for a manufactured home for ants and termites?
Looking for a product to control ants and termites that I can spray on the brick and concrete of the perimeter
    A
Taurus SC Termiticide can be used for both Ants and Subterraneant Termites around concrete/brick foundations however require 2 different methods for treatment.

For outdoor control of ants and other perimeter pests, mix 0.8 fl. oz. of Taurus SC per gallon of water and apply using a hand-pump sprayer around the outside of the home, spraying 1 foot up the side of the house and 1 foot out from the house, all the way around the home. Also spray around any exterior openings where pests may enter such as doors (don't spray near door handles), windows, pipes, cracks, vents, holes, etc. Exterior perimeter spray applications will provide a 6 month residual against ants and other crawling insects. For Subterranean Termites,

Taurus SC Termiticide is applied by a trench treatment method where you are digging a 6 in x 6 in trench directly against the exterior perimeter foundation (to include any support pillars/piers under the home). This method will eliminate an existing Sub Termite colony within 90-120 days and last for 10 years in the soil to protect against future termites.

Dig the 6 in x 6 in trench directly against the foundation, pour 4 gallons of mixed solution (0.8 fl oz per gallon of water) every 10 linear feet of trench around the foundation. When backfilling the trench, spray the dirt with 1 gallon of mixed solution (0.8 fl oz per gallon) every 10 linear feet of the top soil.

Please view our Termite Treatment Guide for additional information including how to continue the trenching/drilling method across concrete driveways, sidewalks, patios or inside walls of attached garage.

    Q
Is Taurus SC Termiticide harmful to pets if they eat an insect that's died from contact with it?
    A

Once the application area treated with Taurus SC Termiticide has completely dried, it is safe for pets/children to return and resume normal activity.

The amount of the active ingredient that is lethal to an insect is miniscule to the amount that would be harmful to a larger size animal or pet. Pets would have to eat a large number of insects to be effected.

    Q
Will Taurus SC Termiticide eliminate ant colonies in my front and back lawn?
I have some ant colonies in my front and back yards. They're killing the grass in those areas. They're making the soul super soft and it's pretty much all loose soil, looks like sand in the areas with hundreds of those typical ant holes around.
    A

Taurus SC Termiticide cannot be used in lawns or outside 1ft from the foundation per the product label. DeltaGard G Insecticide Granules would be a better option for lawns and covers a broad spectrum of ant species including Acrobat, Argentine, Big Headed, Cornfield, Fire Ants, Harverster, Leafcutter, Little Black, Pavement, & Pyramid Ants.

    Q
It's been more than two weeks since I applied Taurus SC for carpenter ants and I am still seeing activity, can I reapply?
It's been more than two weeks since I applied Taurus SC for carpenter ants I still see ants can I apply again? I'm seeing a bunch of carcasses of carpenter ants in my garage. However, I am seeing live Swarmers as well as regular carpenter ants walking around my garage as well as in a couple rooms in my house. Should I spray again?
    A

Taurus SC Termiticide is a non repellent insecticide which allows the carpenter ants to cross the treated areas undetected and transfer the active ingredient fipronil throughout the colony. Non repellents are not fast acting or knockdown insecticides however have the best transfer effect with social insects like Carpenter Ants

Keep in mind, it can take up to 90 days to see full results from using Taurus, especially if the colony is large. You cannot reapply Taurus after only 2 weeks from the initial treatment. Depending on what usage rate you used, you likely will need to wait 6 months before using it again.

    Q
How long will Taurus SC Termiticide last in the trap area behind the tub?
    A

Taurus SC Termiticide can only be used indoors for direct spot treatments where active termites have been located and will leave a residual of 6 to 8 weeks. This is not to be used indoors for termite prevention or general indoor pest control.
