No, Taurus SC is a water based product that dries clear. It will not stain a wood deck.
The residual for Taurus SC Termiticide will depend on which application method you are using. If you are doing a trenching application, it will last in the soil for up to 10 years. If using as a perimter spray (1 foot up the siding, 1 foot out into the soil all the way around the perimeter, along with around entry points like doors and windows), it will last about 6 months.
Taurus SC Termiticide is pet safe when it is used as directed on the product label. The dogs should be out of the area during application and can safely return to the area after the application has dried.
Yes, Taurus SC is labeled for Formosan termites. It is recommended that you do a trench treatment around the structure. If you have seen activity in specific areas, it is safe to inject the product in the wood.
Yes the Taurus SC is virtually ordorless just like the Termidor SC. Both products can be used outdoors only and only around the foundation 1 foot up and 1 foot out and around window and door frames. This application is limited to 6 inches up onto the foundation and 6 inches out from it on the ground in the state of California.
Given that you applied Taurus SC at higher than the label rate, it is possible that the product killed the termites too quickly and, therefore, has results more like a repellent than a non-repellent. This would mean termites coming to the treated area die, but the product would kill too quickly to transfer through the colony and kill the whole colony. It is also possible that the initial termite colony died and there is a new infestation there. I would recommend retreating if you are finding live termites with a ready-to-use product such as Fuse Foam. Fuse has a foaming agent to help treat voids and galleries more efficiently, and it is already mixed so that you do not have to worry about using the wrong application rate.
Using the hand pump sprayer loaded with one gallon of finished termiticide solution with Taurus SC, spray down the soil as you are replacing it back into the trench. Spray the soil just until moist.
The application rate for Taurus SC Termiticide is 0.8 oz. per 1 gallon of water, so you will mix 3.2 oz. per 4 gallons of water (4 gallons per 10 lineal ft of trenching/drilled holes).
You will want to give adequate time for the herbicide to dry and absorb into the plants you are treating with it before using another product over top. This will help to make sure there are no compatibility issues between the two products as well as to ensure the insecticide application does not wash away any of the Roundup you applied. Taurus SC should be applied only to the ground 1 foot out from the foundation and 1 foot up onto the structure.
Yes, Taurus SC is extremely toxic to honey bees and bee populations and should be not used in any areas you are trying to either raise bees or have a large population you are concerned with effecting. Although the Taurus is only for use around the structure and foundation of the home if a bee lands on it in those areas it will die from it and has the ability to spread it to other bees. If you are using Taurus as a trench application for termites it should not be an issue, however if you are using it as a foundation and entry point spray on the home the risk does increase greatly.
Taurus SC Termiticide is NOT labeled for indoor general pest control. The Taurus SC Termiticide product label only allows indoor applications to wall voids (behind sheet rock), unfinished attics, unfinished basements, and crawlspaces for active termite infestations. Taurus SC Termiticide could be harmful if used indoors and would be in violation of the product label.
You can use the companion product Phantom Insecticide for ants indoors.
No, Taurus SC Termidicide will not affect turf grass at all if used according to the directions on the product label.
Taurus SC would kill a carpenter bee but it is only labeled to be applied 1 ft up and 1 ft out around the perimeter of the structure. Please see our Carpenter Bee Kit.
The mixing ratio for Taurus SC is the same when using it inside of wall voids with insulation. It is not meant to be used in areas where the voids have rigid foam. It will be just as effective. Be sure only to use the product indoors if there is known termite activity in the area.
