    Q
How does Tempo SC Ultra compare to Suspend Polyzone?
    A

Tempo SC Ultra and Suspend Polyzone have two different active ingredients. The active ingredient in Tempo SC Ultra is beta-cyfluthrin. The active ingredient in Suspend Polyzone is deltamethrin. Suspend Polyzone also has an added polymer that protects the active ingredient from weather, irrigation and mechanical abrasion. The residual for Tempo SC Ultra is approximately 30 days outdoors, while the residual for Suspend Polyzone outdoors is approximately 90 days. They are both general insecticides that are labeled for most of the same pests.

  • Asked by Lena from Seattle, Washington
    11/08/2015
    Q
Can I mix Tempo SC Ultra with Transport Mikron?
Is it safe to combine these two insecticides?
    A

You should not mix Tempo SC Ultra and Transport Mikron together, and you should never mix 2 insecticides together unless both labels specifically state they are safe for mixing with the other product you plan to use. Insecticides are very specifically formulated to work with certain ratios and adding any other chemical to the mix can offset the ability of the product to work properly and the way it was designed. Specifically speaking regarding Transport and Tempo; Transport is a non-repellent insecticide and Tempo is not. Therefore, mixing the two will completely take away the non-repellency of the Transport, wasting the product and its intended use.

You may also contact our Customer Service team for assistance with your specific situation; we are happy to make recommendations on what produts and applications will work best for your target insects. You may reach us at 866-581-7378 M-F 9a-5p EST.

    Q
Which product is better to use against Springtails? Tempo SC Ultra or Transport Mikron?
    A

Both Tranport Mikron and Tempo SC are labeled to treat for Silverfish. Picking between the two Transport Mikron would be best. Transport Mikron combines not only one powerful active ingredient, but two! Dilute at 1.25oz Transport Mikron per gallon water for Springtail control.

  • Asked by John from Cambridge
    12/24/2015
    Q
Can I spray in my cupboards filled with dishes and food with Tempo SC Ultra?
The food is packaged sealed. I have fruit flies. I have sprayed the sink and walls with Tempo but they are still here.
    A

No, Tempo SC Ultra is not labeled to be used inside of cabinets. This product should only be used around baseboards, cracks and crevices.

For fruit flies, we do have a contact kill called PI Aerosol that can be used inside of cabinets. Be sure to take everything out the cabinets when you are spraying. Once it is dry, it is safe you to put everything back inside the cabinets. For this and any other fly, it is crucial to identify the source where the flies are breeding in order to eradicate the insects. Please see our Fruit Flies Treatment Guide for more information.

    Q
How long until it is safe for us to enter our home after spraying Tempo SC Ultra?
    A

Tempo SC Ultra is considered a general use insecticide and is labeled for outside and inside use. It is odorless, and very safe to use around children or pets. The general rule is that while spraying you keep children or pets in another room or outside to play. After about one hour it should be dry and it is perfectly safe to allow kids and/or pets back in the room.

  • Asked by Pat from Texas
    12/30/2015
    Q
Does Tempo SC Ultra contain pyrethrum or anything that kills the Mexican kissing bug?
    A

Tempo SC Ultra contains a pyrethroid called beta-cyfluthrin, which behaves similarly to natural pyrethrum, except with much longer residual activity. While the product label does not specifically list kissing bugs, this is a non-selective insecticide and would likely affect any insect that would contact it. Please see the following articles from Texas A&M for more information regarding kissing bugs in Texas:

  • Asked by Laura from Stamford, Ct
    01/10/2016
    Q
Can I use Tempo SC Ultra without water or do you have it in powder form?
And if I so, in how long can my kids and I can go back to the room?
    A

Tempo SC Ultra cannot be used without water; it is a liquid concentrate. Tempo Ultra WP is a wettable powder but also needs to be diluted in water. If you need a powder/dust insecticide you can apply without diluting, you can use something like Tempo 1% inside wall voids. Once you're finished applying it inside wall voids or as instructed on the label and the area is cleaned up from any residue, you and your kids can be back into the area.

    Q
Can you mix Martins IGR with Tempo SC Ultra for fleas outdoors?
    A

Yes, Martins IGR can be mixed with Tempo SC Ultra for fleas outdoors. It is recommended that you do treatments every 14 days.

Archer IGR is also a very good IGR that holds up longer in conditions outdoors. It is photostable, meaning that it does not break down easily in direct sunlight.

  • Asked by Ruben from Lawndale, Ca
    01/18/2016
    Q
Does Tempo SC Ultra kill baby roaches?
    A

Tempo SC Ultra will kill adult roaches. It sounds like you need to use an Insect Growth Regulator to break down that life cycle. We recommend using a Gentrol product like Gentrol IGR Concentrate or Gentrol Point Source. Both will stop pest larvae from progressing to the pupal stage of development, so the larvae die before they become breeding adults and prevents future infestations. Please take a few moments to review our article on How to Get Rid of Roaches for a successful roach control program. We do recommend applying the products from one of our Roach Control Kits.

  • Asked by Kerry from New Glarus, Wi
    02/10/2016
    Q
If I spray Tempo SC around my exterior windows, will it keep Asian beetles and boxelder bugs out?
We have asian beetles and box elders in our house almost all year in WI. I vacuumed up 50 in our bedroom, alive in the middle of February. Will this kill them as they sneak into the house via the window cracks?
    A

Yes, Tempo SC Ultra will work for Asian beetles and boxelder bugs. It is recommended that you spray in the areas where you have seen activity, around the perimeter of your home, around windows, doors, and around entry ways, etc. The mixing ratio is 8 ml per gallon of water. We would also recommend using a dust in the wall voids, such as Cimexa Dust, to stop them if they attempt tp come in through there.
