    Q
Is Tempo SC Ultra labeled for noseeums? I have a heavy infestation at my home.
    A

Tempo SC is not specifically labeled for noseeums therefore cannot be recommended for soley treating noseeums.

Talstar P or Onslaught Insecticide would be a better alternative to for noseeums and to treat other insects such as mosquitoes, midgegs, chiggers, fleas, ticks, etc. Applications should be focused on spraying the undersides of leaves on bushes, trees, shrubs, and the exterior perimeter fountation of the home.

For the exterior foundation of the home, spray 2-3 ft up and 2-3ft from the foundation as well as spraying around window frames, window screens, door frames, and cracks and crevices that may be used as points of entry. including around windows. PT Microcare CS Pressurized Insecticide can be used as a contact kill/repellent around windows frames, screens and other entry points to the home.

Please view our Article on How to Best Treat No-see-ums for more information.

    Q
Will Tempo SC Ultra kill or ham pollinators? Wanting to treat a huge fly problem at my home due to horses near me.
    A

Tempo SC Ultra can kill pollinators like bees if you spray them directly or they contact treated surfaces. To reduce risk to pollinators, we recommend that you avoid spraying flowering plants and that you treat in the morning or evening when they are less active.

Additionally, for fly control near livestock we recommend using traps such as the Flies Be Gone. These traps are easy to use and can each catch thousands of flies. Be sure to hang in a sunny area away from where you spend time. We have more tips in our Fly Treatment Guide here.

    Q
Do armyworms have to be directly sprayed with Tempo SC Ultra to be effective?
    A

No, Tempo SC Ultra does not need to be applied directly on armyworms to be effective. Once armyworms and other labeled insects cross the treated area, their bodies will pick up the active ingredient.

    Q
If a fly was sprayed with a mixed solution of Tempo SC Ultra and my cat then ate the fly, is this harmful to my cat?
    A

The amount of active ingredient in Tempo SC Ultra that is lethal to insects such as a flies, ants, roaches, etc is minimal than what would be harmful to larger animals such as a dog or cat. Generally speaking, a cat would have to consume double its' body weight in flies in order to have any affect. If you have concerns regarding your pets health, it is always recommended to contact your Veternarian for their medical advice.
When using insectiides, you want to keep kids and pets out of the treatment areas until the application has completely dried. Once dry, it is safe for them to re-enter.

  • Asked by David from Kitchener, Ontario

    Q
After drying, the application of Tempo SC Ultra has left a white powdery residue behind. I have small kids and concerns of the residual left behind.
If this gets on my kids fingers and they put their fingers in their mouths, is it dangerous? When I vacuum/mop to remove the residue left behind, is this going to diminish the results or potency of the product?
    A

Tempo SC is a mostly clear-drying product; however if it is over mixed, over applied/saturated in one area, and allowed to pool up it can leave a milky white residue behind. Mopping or cleaning the residue off surfaces will remove the product.

If there are areas of residue or overspray, we would recommend cleaning/mopping the areas. One dry, reapplying along the cracks and crevices along baseboards, around windows, doors, under cabinets, etc. This is not to be applied as a surface or broadcast spray.
