    Q
Will Tempo SC Ultra Insecticide kill Brown Dog Ticks and does this have an IGR in it?
I know indoor Brown Dog Ticks are harder to eliminate. I read that's it's good to use IGR to help. Does this product work for Brown Dog Ticks and does it have a insect growth inhibitor?
    A

Tempo SC Ultra is labeled for ticks in general including ticks that may transmit Lyme Disease and Rocky Mountain Fever. It is labeled to be applied at the rate of 8ml to 16ml per gallon of water. Repeat applications every 21-30 days as needed outdoors.

If looking for an insecticide specifically for Brown Dog Ticks, Talstar P lists Brown DOg Ticks on the product label at the rate of 0.5 to 1 fl oz per gallon of water. Repeat applications every 21-30 days as needed outdoors.

These insecticides do NOT contain an IGR (insect growth regulator) therefore it is recommended to add the IGR to the tank mix to help stop the growth cycle of the target insects. Archer IGR is one of the most recommended IGR’s due to that is holds up longer in conditions outdoors and does not break down easily in direct sunlight.

Please view our Tick Treatment Guide for more information.

    Q
Why is it taking hours for the application of Tempo SC Ultra Insecticide to dry? Using a Chapin 1 gallon sprayer with fine mist spray pattern.
    A

It normally takes a few hours for a product such as Tempo SC Ultra to completely dry. Usually, it takes about 2-4 hours, but this also depends on other environmental factors. For hard to wet foliage such as holly, pine, or ivy you could consider adding a spreader sticker for enhanced coverage.

    Q
Does Tempo SC Ultra kill roaches on contact? If not, how long before coming into contact with the treated area will roaches begin to die?
    A

Tempo SC Ultra is not a contact kill but it does have a residual of up to 4 weeks. The time it takes for roaches to die after they come into contact with dried deposits of Tempo SC will depend on the life stage of the roach, how long they stay on the treated surface, and how long the dried deposit of Tempo SC has been in place. You can expect the roaches to die anywhere from 1 hour - 24 hours after they come into contact with treated areas. If you are having a heavy roach infestation, look over our article How To Get Rid of Roaches for helpful details, hints and product recommendation for controlling the colony the fastest way to eliminate them for good at the source.

    Q
What is the proper ratio of Tempo SC Ultra to NyGuard IGR for pet fleas in a home?
    A
Tempo SC Ultra Insecticide is not labeled for fleas nor is is labeled for broadcast applications indoors over carpets, rugs, etc.

Onslaught Insecticide can be tank mixed with NyGuard IGR for indoor/outdoor flea treatments at the rate of 1 fl oz per gallon Onslaught + 4ml per gallon NyGuard per 1000 sq ft.

The Indoor Flea Kit would be another option as this kit contains 2 x 14 oz PT Alpine Flea Aerosol (contains the insecticide and IGR together) & a 4 oz bottle Cimexa Dust.

Fleas require repeat applications every 14 days and you can expect to do roughly 3-4 treatments. View our Flea Treatment Guide for more information.
