  • Asked by Sara from Hays, Ab

    Q
Is there any harmful risk to my baby crawling on grass after spraying with Tempo SC Ultra?
I understand that you wait 4 hrs till its completely dry to be in contact, however I worry about my baby crawling on the grass after I've sprayed it. If you don't recommend using it on furniture or anything with prolonged skin contact, how can the grass be safe for my baby?
    A
The Tempo is not Labeled for use on furniture and skin contact surfaces as this is not a tested area. It takes manufacturers millions of dollars to go through the testing and research to be approved to have "skin surface areas" on the label so most dont do it. Plus, you normally come into contact with bare skin on furniture in your home more than any other part so it lessens any adverse reaction since every persons body is different. Once the product has thoroughly dried on the grass, the solution at that point after being diluted and spread across the yard is only toxic enough to kill something the size of an insect. As long as you give the adequate wait time, your baby should be fine. Please let us know if you have any other questions.

  • Asked by Sandra from Cairo, Georgia

    Q
Can tempo be mixed with an oil base exterior paint to prevent carpenter bee?
    A
We apologize but the Tempo SC ultra is not labeled to be used mixed with paint and we are unsure of the results if you were to do so outside of the product label instructions. We are unaware of any products currently on the market that we carry that can be mixed with paint for insect control. Your best method would be to spray the surfaces they are congregating regularly throughout the season with Cyonara 9.7. Or you can check our complete Carpenter Bee Kits.

    Q
Would like to use hose end sprayer with Tempo. What is the ratio/setting we should use?
    A
You can use Tempo SC Ultra in a hose end sprayer as long as the hose end sprayer can be calibrated to use the correct amount of product per gallon of water.  You would use
8 ml-16 ml of Tempo concentrate per 1000 square feet (generally 1 gallon covers this area) depending on what you are treating for.  Please refer to the product label for rates for the specific pest you are trying to treat for.

    Q
i have just purchased a 900ml bottle and plan on spraying multiple house for Asian beetles i have a100 gallon
    A
Tempo SC Ultra is labeled for a few differnt types of Beetles, however Asian Beetles is not the label. We recommend using Onslaught Fastcap or Bifen IT outdoors to kill Asian beetles, using either product at a mixing rate of 1oz per gallon water. Treating outdoor areas is very time consuming and getting the appropriate coverage over the area can be a real challenge. But it's the only way to stop the invasion. Spraying indoors without spraying outdoors is virtually useless. Any measure for control to treat Asian Lady Beetles assumes that all holes and entry points OUTSIDE of the structure have been sealed first. When treating the inside and outside perimeter of the home, focus on the entry points to the home (windows, doord, eaves, attic vents, foundation cracks). Please let us know if you have any further questions.

    Q
    Midge Control
We have swarms of millions of midges that look like massive clouds. they stick to your house get into the house th rough the screens and cover the car. Is there anything I can spray to destroy this mass invasion before it happens besides keep lights down. It is awful.
    A
Biting midges do generally not enter structures, but midges are small enough to get through 16 mesh screens. Getting mesh screens with a higher number can keep these and other very tiny insects out of your home. Since non-biting midges are attracted to lights, draw your shades at night and wait as long as possible to turn on exterior lights to keep them away from your home. It is nearly impossible to affect the habitat of these pests, and pesticides are not recommended to control these pests in water or mud.

Our experts recommend using a pyrethrin spray such as 565 Plus or Microcare to get rid of the adult midges in or around your home. Spraying a product such as Tempo SC Ultra on window screens, doors, bushes, and plants around your home can act as midge repellant to keep midges away. Citronella candles or oils can act as a midge repellant, but aren’t as effective when used alone.

    Q
Does it kill cone nose beetles and safe around chickens who would eat the dead insects?
Our chickens free range and they would eat the dead insects. We are worried about them and the eggs they lay. My husband is deathly allergic to the cone nose beetle (AKA kissing bug) so we need a safe spray for chickens.
    A
We would recommend using Talstar P for kissing bugs. It is labeled to be used in poultry houses at the rate of 1 fl. oz. per gallon of water. We would recommend keeping your chickens out of the area until it has dried.

Difference between SC Ultra and SC Ultra Premise & Application
What is the difference between Tempo SC Ultra and Tempo SC Ultra "Premise"? Do you need to reapply it after it rains or just on a 10 day rotating schedule? I have a campground and thinking of using it for guests.
    A
Tempo SC Ultra and Premise 2 Termiticide are two different products. They have two different active ingredients. We would recommend using the product when rain is not in the forecast or at least 24 hours. The reapplication time for Tempo SC Ultra is 30 days outdoors. The reapplication time for Premise 2 Termiticide is six months topically. Please let us know if you have any additional questions.
