    Q
Can I use Tempo SC Ultra around the trunk of a maple tree to kill yellow jackets?
Nest underground around trunk of maple tree that is about 6-8
    A

Tempo SC Ultra is labeled to target yellow jackets, and for use on ornamentals and trees.  We advise treating the area in the evenings when they are less active.  This application will not instantly kill the yellow jackets, but will instead provide a residual that will eventually control the population as they come into contact with the treated areas.

    Q
After drying, the application of Tempo SC Ultra has left a white powdery residue behind. I have small kids and concerns of the residual left behind.
If this gets on my kids fingers and they put their fingers in their mouths, is it dangerous? When I vacuum/mop to remove the residue left behind, is this going to diminish the results or potency of the product?
    A

Tempo SC is a mostly clear-drying product; however if it is over mixed, over applied/saturated in one area, and allowed to pool up it can leave a milky white residue behind. Mopping or cleaning the residue off surfaces will remove the product.

If there are areas of residue or overspray, we would recommend cleaning/mopping the areas. One dry, reapplying along the cracks and crevices along baseboards, around windows, doors, under cabinets, etc. This is not to be applied as a surface or broadcast spray.

    Q
Will Tempo SC Ultra Insecticide kill Brown Dog Ticks and does this have an IGR in it?
I know indoor Brown Dog Ticks are harder to eliminate. I read that's it's good to use IGR to help. Does this product work for Brown Dog Ticks and does it have a insect growth inhibitor?
    A

Tempo SC Ultra is labeled for ticks in general including ticks that may transmit Lyme Disease and Rocky Mountain Fever. It is labeled to be applied at the rate of 8ml to 16ml per gallon of water. Repeat applications every 21-30 days as needed outdoors.

If looking for an insecticide specifically for Brown Dog Ticks, Talstar P lists Brown DOg Ticks on the product label at the rate of 0.5 to 1 fl oz per gallon of water. Repeat applications every 21-30 days as needed outdoors.

These insecticides do NOT contain an IGR (insect growth regulator) therefore it is recommended to add the IGR to the tank mix to help stop the growth cycle of the target insects. Archer IGR is one of the most recommended IGR’s due to that is holds up longer in conditions outdoors and does not break down easily in direct sunlight.

Please view our Tick Treatment Guide for more information.

    Q
Can Tempo SC Ultra be tank mixed with Clearys 3336F to treat for disease and insects in my lawn?
    A

Tempo SC Ultra would be best applied separately.  The rates for Clearys 3336F are per area and not set per gallon like the Tempo is.

Please view the individual product labels for application rates specific to the insects and disease being targeted.

    Q
Why is it taking hours for the application of Tempo SC Ultra Insecticide to dry? Using a Chapin 1 gallon sprayer with fine mist spray pattern.
    A

It normally takes a few hours for a product such as Tempo SC Ultra to completely dry. Usually, it takes about 2-4 hours, but this also depends on other environmental factors. For hard to wet foliage such as holly, pine, or ivy you could consider adding a spreader sticker for enhanced coverage.

    Q
How long does Tempo SC Ultra Insecticide take to show to results?
    A

The time it takes for labeled insects to die after they come into contact with dried deposits of Tempo SC will depend on the life stage of the insect, how long they stay on the treated surface, and how long the dried deposit of Tempo SC has been in place. You can expect the pests to die anywhere from 1 hour - 24 hours after they come into contact with treated areas. Tempo SC leaves a 30 day residual outdoors and 90 day residual indoors for general purpose applications.
