    Q
Is Tempo SC the best product to use for carpet beetle?
I've had an exterminator spray my apartment 2 times for carpet beetles. Not sure what product they are using but live beetles are still being found. Is this the best product to use to take care of them myself?
    A

Tempo SC Ultra will kill carpet beetles that come in contact with it, but Tempo SC Ultra is really designed as a crack and crevice spray. You could use Nyguard Plus, which is safe to use on carpets. Please be sure to keep these tips in mind as well.

Carpet beetle larvae like to feed in dark, undisturbed locations like closets, attics, basements, and storage areas. The wide availability of food sources for the larvae (including dust and lint, and pet hair) makes vacuuming the best way to ensure there is minimal food for the larvae to feed on. Vacuuming can also help to remove the larvae and adult beetles already in the home. Regular vacuuming and laundering of rugs, furniture, and linens can help to ensure the beetles are removed and have no food source. If you find a contaminated item, bag and remove this item from your home, if possible.

Proper storage: Before storing silks, woolens, or furs, dry clean as the beetles are attracted to stains and soiled garments. Store in a well-sealed container, using mothballs. Mothballs can limit the beetle’s attraction to the wool or silk. Store pet food, dried meat, and other dried animal products in a well-sealed container.

Insecticides: For things that cannot be washed or dry cleaned, insecticides are the best bet for prevention and eradication.

Insecticides can be used for spot-treatments, as a boundary at the edges of rugs, under rugs, under furniture, walls and floors of closets, shelving, cracks, and lint or dust accumulating areas. Be careful around oriental rugs or other fabrics, as some insecticides can stain. Never spray clothing or bedding with insecticide, and always read instructions.

Does Tempo SC Ultra provide yard control for mosquitoes?
    A
Yes, the Tempo SC Ultra is labeled for mosquito control in the yard. Focus sprays on prime breeding areas for the mosquitoes like shady or moist areas or heavy foliage to acheive the best control. How does Tempo SC Ultra compare to Suspend Polyzone?
    A

Tempo SC Ultra and Suspend Polyzone have two different active ingredients. The active ingredient in Tempo SC Ultra is beta-cyfluthrin. The active ingredient in Suspend Polyzone is deltamethrin. Suspend Polyzone also has an added polymer that protects the active ingredient from weather, irrigation and mechanical abrasion. The residual for Tempo SC Ultra is approximately 30 days outdoors, while the residual for Suspend Polyzone outdoors is approximately 90 days. They are both general insecticides that are labeled for most of the same pests.

Tempo SC Ultra cannot be applied to mattresses.

As you go through the guide linked below you will see the non chemical steps (such as washing and drying clothes and linens) as well as chemical steps including where and how to use each product. Our Bed Bug kits are the best route to make sure you are using the best products on the market and without breaking the bank. Each kit is designed to treat a different size home or number of rooms, so you can choose the one best suited to the areas you have effected by the pest problem. The kits come with all the products need to do a complete treatment in all the places bed bugs can hide and enough product to complete roughly 4 repeat applications. Since every home and infestation is different you will want to do diligent and meticulous treatments with the products every 7-14 days until you can go 30 days in a row with no signs of live bed bugs and no new bites on the occupants of the home. If you have any questions regarding info you see in our guide or the products within the kits please let us know and we would be more than happy to assist you.

  • Asked by Nicci from Viborg,sd
    09/04/2017
    Q
    Will Tempo kill chiggers?
Can we spray the entire yard without killing the grass?
    A

Yes,  Tempo SC Ultra can be applied at a rate of 8 ml of Tempo per 1000 square feet for chiggers.  The amount of water depends on how much you need to apply the 8 ml over the area.  It can be mixed with a few gallons of water, or 10 gallons of water, just as long as the 8 ml is applied over the 1000 square feet. Treatments for chiggers should begin in April/May and could need to continue through the summer as new chiggers move into the area. Treating the entire lawn is of little benefit because chiggers avoid direct sunlight and normally will not infest areas that are mowed or otherwise well maintained. Focus treatment on the unkept areas of the lawn and lawn edge. You can also use Tempo SC Ultra as a barrier treatment around the outside of your home and in your crawl space to stop pests from moving indoors.

    Q
How to treat for fleas in my garage and indoors, I already have Tempo SC Ultra?
I'm a firm believer in tempo SC... what would like advice on how to get rid of fleas in my garage... also the best way to spray inside my house for any fleas getting there
    A
Yes, Tempo SC Ultra will treat Fleas. We also recommend mixing in an IGR that will help break down the reproductive cycle. You can use something like Precor IGR. You can use this mixture both indoors and out in the garage. You want to make sure to retreat two weeks after your initial application as the life cycle of a flea is two weeks. We also recommend applying a product like Alpine Flea Insecticide that can safely be applied to carpets and upholstered furniture. It is easily applied with a sweeping motion. PLease find out video on Indoor flea treatment.

  • Asked by Miranda from Bricelyn, Mn
    07/05/2013
    Q
How do I know if I put enough Tempo SC in my yard to get rid of Mosquitoes?
    A
If you used the Tempo SC at the rate of 8ml per gallon of water and treated the harborage areas until wet, but not dripping then you have applied it for sufficient coverage. Make sure when treating for mosquitoes you are spraying in the foliage of neighboring trees, bushes and ornamentals as well as moist areas of your lawn where they will tend to lay their eggs. Tempo is a residual product and will last at least 30 days outdoors so only spray in monthly intervals. It can take several weeks for you to see a noticeable drop in the population so make sure you give the product plenty of time to work and bring the activity down to a tolerable level. Please let us know if you have any other questions.

  • Asked by Linda

    Q
Why can't Tempo be used on edible vegetation?
Our garden was sprayed and I'm hoping a good washing will take care of any residual product.
    A
Tempo cannot be applied to vegetation because the manufacturer did not label it to be applied to edible vegetation.  The manufacturer would probably tell you to discard any items that were sprayed with the tempo.  Unfortunately.  You may want to contact the manufacturer, BAYER, to be sure.  You can reach them at (800) 331-2867.

Can I spray Tempo around Hosta plants without damage?
    A
Tempo SC Ultra is known to be very gentle on plants when used as directed on the product label. That being said we always recommend that you test a new product on one or two plants before you spray them all just to be safe.
