  • Asked by Kevin from Little Elm, Tx

    Q
Will Temprid FX Insecticide kill chiggers?
    A

Temprid FX Insecticide is not specifically labeled for chiggers. Onslaught is a great product for chigger control. Treatments for chiggers should begin in April/May and could/need to continue through the summer as new chiggers move into the area. Treating the entire lawn is of little benefit because chiggers avoid direct sunlight and normally will not infest areas that are mowed or otherwise well maintained. Focus treatment on the unkempt areas of the lawn and lawn edge. You can also use Onslaught to do a barrier treatment around the outside of your home and in your crawl space to stop pests from moving indoors.

  • Asked by Sheldon from Surrey
    09/23/2019
    Q
How soon can I spray Temprid FX after using another insecticide?
I've been using Onguard Properm, water based.35%PERMETHERIN for a month. Will that affect spraying of Temprid FX?
    A

We are not familiar with the product you are referring to that you have already used. Depending on what pest you are treating for would determine the proper application interval between when you last used your Permethrin spray product, and when you can use the Temprid FX or any other residual insecticide. Temprid can be used every 7-14 days for bedbugs, and every 30 days for roaches and other pests. Rotating the insecticides you treat with every 30 days is fine to do as long as you are following label instructions for where and how to use the insecticides, and mixing them according to the label.

    Q
Why can't Temprid FX be sprayed on the top of the mattress where people sleep?
    A

Temprid FX is labeled to be applied only to the tufts and folds of the mattress. If you are looking for a product that can be applied directly to the mattress, you can purchase Steri-Fab

  • Asked by Cole from Sacramento, Ca
    01/12/2020
    Q
In what temperatures can Temprid FX be applied?
    A

There are not any specific temperature restrictions on when Temprid FX Insecticide can be applied. You should not use insecticides when temperatures are near, at, or below freezing. Insects are most active when air temperatures are around 60-85 degrees F. The best time of day to apply is early in the day or in the late evening. Applications also need to be done when there isn't any rain expected for 24 hrs and the winds are calm to ensure the product has had time to dry. Please follow the label instructions for details on your treatment.

  • Asked by Teddy from New York City
    04/03/2020
    Q
For Bedbugs, is Temprid FX Insecticide more effective on harder, non-porous surfaces, or softer, more porous ones?
Similarly, do the residual effects last longer on hard, non-porous surfaces (like polished wood, polished metal, and hard plastics) or on softer porous surfaces (like fabric, and unfinished wood)? Thanks!
    A

Per a technical specialist at Bayer regarding the efficacy of the Temprid FX: It is not a question of efficacy of the active ingredients changing on different surfaces (as long as all are chemically neutral), but the amount of exposure to residues based on interference by the physical properties of the surface. Temprid (or any other residual insecticide) would generally be more efficacious (with all other factors like UV exposure, relative humidity, temperature exposures, surface pH being equal) against bed bugs on a hard, non-porous surface because if applied at the same amount, you would expect more of the deposit on the non-porous surface to be available for exposure to the target pest than on a porous surface.

When using Temprid FX Insecticide for bed bugs you are only applying to cracks and crevices and along baseboards in rooms, not across entire surfaces.  Please refer to the product label for complete instructions.

  • Asked by Christine from Newport, Ky
    07/30/2020
    Q
    Does Temprid FX kill termites?
Termites are not listed on the label.
    A
Temprid FX has drywood termites only listed on the product label, however this would not normally be an ideal treatment for that pest. We would need to know specifically what type of termite you have and where you have them in order to make a product and treatment recommendation. You can also review ourSubterranean Termite Treatment Guide and Drywood Termite Treatment Guides to determine what kind you may have and how to treat for them as well as what products to use for each.

    Q
Will Temprid FX Insecticide transfer and kill the queen or just the ants that cross the treated area?
    A

Temprid FX Insecticide is not a contact kill insecticide. The product offers a transfer effect that will travel throughout the colony eventually kill the queen. Crazy Ant Colonies are very large in size and may require repeat applications and multiple seasons to get control.

  • Asked by Larry from Littleton, Co
    08/06/2021
    Q
Is Temprid FX Insecticide recommended for Springtail control? Can this be applied around the foundation or would a granular insecticide be better?
    A

Yes, Temprid FX Insecticide is a great product for springtails. Depending on how healthy the springtail is and how long it spends on a surface treated by Temprid, will depend on how long it actually takes for each individual one to die. It could be hours or even a day. Also, if you are not treating the main nest and only the satellite colony, you are only temporarily fixing your problem. More will appear as they continue to migrate and you will need to fix the moisture issue in your home that is attracting the springtails as well. Until the moisture is gone or the main nest is found and eliminated, you will have an ongoing battle with the pest.

Please view our How to Get Rid of Springtails Guide for more information.

  • Asked by Melodie
    11/13/2021
    Q
Does Temprid FX Insecticide create toxic vapor/fume?
When we treated the kitchen with Temprid FX, the only area we sprayed was the baseboards and we opened the windows to help air it out for ~ 5 hours. We left apples, garlic, onions baskets and potted herbs on the countertop. They were further away from the baseboards so the spray wouldn't get on them but we are wondering about the vapor released into the air while it was drying. Should we throw them away? Should we wash all kitchen wares? Or only those that are not in the cupboards?
    A

Temprid FX does not release toxic vapors or fumes into the air. You would only need to throw away food or wash utensils if any came in contact with the product.

  • Asked by Ed from Eht, Nj
    01/09/2022
    Q
Can Temprid FX be applied a few days later after applying Raid for bedbugs?
Raid Active Ingredients: Chlothianidin .40%, Methofluthrin .01% and Piperonyl Butoxide Ether and Related Compounds 1% Raid was bought on Amazon for DIY's.
    A

Typically you would not apply another insecticide such as Temprid FX Insecticide over an area already treated with another insecticide for at least 30 days.

We would recommend waiting 30 days to treat with Temprid FX in the same areas where the other product was applied.
