    Q
Is it safe to use Temprid FX on house plants (sprayed into soil) to get rid of gnats?
    A

Temprid FX Insecticide is not labeled for household plants for soil application. Fungus gnats will commonly breed in the soil of house plants that may have too much moisture. You should read our Getting Rid of Gnats article that explains how to treat fungus gnats. We recommend using Talstar P  which can be sprayed directly on the soil to help control fungus gnats and we also recommend letting the soil dry out completely between waterings.

    Q
What is better for mosquitoes - Temprid FX or Talstar?
    A

Both Temprid FX Insecticide and Talstar are labeled for mosquitoes and either would do a great job eliminating them. Talstar is is known to be super gentle on most plants (do not use on edible vegetation). Temprid FX has an added active ingredient, promoting a transfer kill. Both products can be used indoors and outdoors and both products are safe to use in houses with children and pets.

  • Asked by Mario from Tucson
    05/10/2018
    Q
Why should you only use 8ml Temprid FX Insecticide for bed bugs and not 16 mil when it's a higher dosage ?
What if I'm treating inside and outside for all types of insects including bed bugs what amount should I use for a one gallon applicator.
    A

Temprid FX Insecticide can be mixed at the higher rate of 16 ml per gallon water for treatment inside and outside when you are treating for heavy infestations of other pests, but for bed bugs the label does indicate you do not use higher than 8 ml per gallon.  The manufacturer has tested and approved it for this rate only and it would work very well at the rate.  You can also just use the 8 ml per gallon for general pests inside and out depending on the target pest.

  • Asked by Jeremy from Searcy, Ar
    05/09/2018
    Q
Can Temprid FX be used alone for mosquito control instead of Talstar and ExciteR together?
It says it utilizes two modes of action. Does it provide a fast knockdown + residual? If so could this replace the Talstar/ExciteR portion of a mosquito combo and just apply Temprid FX + IGR with same results but longer residual? Looking for mosquito control combo with best residual/fewest treatments. Bring on the wisdom
    A

Temprid FX Insecticide does have a faster knockdown and a long residual when used alone, however it will not have the same effectiveness as a synergist insecticide such as ExciteR.  The manufacturer is referring to in comparison with other similar residual insecticides, it has a quicker knockdown.

    Q
So why can only use 8mil and not 16mil for bedbugs? Isn't 16mil stronger?
What if I'm treating the outside of my house and the inside? isn't 16mil per gallon of water stronger?
    A

If treating for bedbugs, you will apply 8 ml of Temprid FX Insecticide? per gallon of water per 1,000 sq ft. It can be applied in 7-10 days.  You would use the higher rate of 16 milliliters (0.54 fluid ounces) per 1 gallon of water for faster knockdown of flying insects, like hornets, wasps, and yellow jackets.  Please follow the label instructions.

    Q
Is Temprid FX Insecticide a repellent?
Beta cyfluthrin- a repellent is a nerve pesticide that kills.
    A

No, Temprid FX Insecticide is not a repellent.  With its two active ingredients the insecticide has two modes of action, a quicker knock down and a longer residual.  When mixed and applied per labeled instructions this insecticide is undetectable to insects thus allowing them the walk through it and come in contact with the chemicals that kill them.

  • Asked by Jon from Manitowoc, Wisconsin

    Q
How close of a time frame can I spray Temprid FX for bed bugs?
I have these buggers for 4ish months now and started spraying suspend sc and precor thinking fleas.....had an inspector say it is bed bugs but not an extreme case yet and i must have been keeping them down with my mix. He recommended Temprix and Gentrol. So far i have applied every 15 days so the last month but am still getting bit. I seam to be getting bit a little less severe than before but nothing to brag about. Can i spray both closer together? I know it is as of now considered safe but I want to treat only as much as is "safe" since im afraid what they will say 15 years from now. Can i use both every 10 days? Or maybe 7 days or is that being poison crazy? My bug guy said every 15 days but i am not sure if the residual will last that long for bed bugs. Please help any info is helpful. This is my first bed bug encounter. Thanks
    A

The residual for both Temprid FX and Gentrol will last for weeks. For bed bug control, you can reapply Temprid FX at a rate of 8 mL per gal of water at 7-10 day intervals. Please see our Bed Bug Inspection Guide and Bed Bug Treatment Guide for more tips on identifying harborage areas and eliminating this pest.
