    Can Talstar P and Temprid SC be mixed together and be safely sprayed indoor and outdoors?
    A
    There is no valid reason to mix Temprid SC and Talstar P together.  Talstar P is a synthetic pyrethroid and Temprid SC already contains a synthetic pyrethroid, so there would be nothing to gain by mixing these products together. Making a pesticide too strong can actually backfire. Areas that are treated with this overly concentrated spray will be repellent and insects will simply avoid the treated areas prolonging the infestation.

    Yes, Temprid SC is safe for use around animals if used as directed. Be sure to keep pets out of the area while you are doing treatments. Once the product has dried completely, it is safe for your pets to return to the area.

    How long will Temprid SC work on bed bugs?
    I bought and applied some a few days ago. I saw where one can spray after about 10 days. I would like to know how long the product works after application.

    When you are spraying Temprid SC for bed bugs, it is recommended that you spray every 7-10 days until you do not see activity for 30 days. How long the product takes to work depends on how severe the problem is to begin with, your other treatment methods, and how thorough treatments are. Temprid SC does offer a long residual, however it is important to perform follow-up treatments at close intervals to kill newly hatched bed bugs that may be present in the area. Please see our Bed Bug Treatment article for more information.

    After application cleanup
    I had a professional apply temprid sc for bed bugs. He was unclear on after application cleanup. How long should I wait before cleaning room after application; dusting, vacuuming, washing hardwood floor? Left residue on furniture, floors, etc.? Can I dust off? Is it still active after dried? Thanks for any assistance you can give me.

    The Temprid should dry clear on any surface it is sprayed on, however every hardwood floor and furniture surface can be a little different. Once the product has dried it is still on the surface, but any attempt to clean the surface other than with a vaccuum or broom will remove the product. Any washing of the hardwoods and furniture would pull the product up. The Temprid is normally sprayed around baseboards but not across open floors as these are not areas that bed bugs hide. If some is on the hardwood itself you can wipe this up but do not clean the baseboards or too close to its edges.

    Can you explain how Temprid SC becomes safe after drying but isn't safe during application?
    Never had any pest control service before & have no experience on the subject. Recently moved to tropics where this product must be sprayed monthly. I'm concerned with my cat who rubs, lays, and brushes up against the walls then licks himself. Also afraid he may eat a pest that has been exposed to Temprid. Would that have an effect on the cat, whether dry or not? Whats the difference chemically?

    The reason an application of Temprid SC is safe once dry is because when it is dry the product as adhered to the surface and will not be so easily removed.  While it is still wet it would be easy for the cat to ingest it if they were to lick the area.  It only takes a small amount of the active ingredient to harm an insect but for a cat they would have to either physically ingest a large portion of the actual product or at least their weight in bugs that died after contacting Temprid.

    I don't see Bed Bugs listed on the Temprid SC product label ?
    I just looked at the product label but I don't see Bed bugs listed anywhere? I purchased Phantom, Alpine Dust, Gentrol and Bedlam last summer, but the bed bugs continued to come back. I called an exterminator this week cause they're back and I can't afford to lose the tenants like I did last summer. They said they were gonna use Temprid, that's what made me come here and check that out. I'd like to use this and see, but I really can't have them keep coming back this summer. I'm hoping this company can do better than I did and get rid of them once and for all.

    What will kill bat bugs (not bed bugs)?
    My daughter had a couple bats get into her bedroom. Now she has an invasion of bat bugs. She has tried everything but nothing will kill them. Can you help?

    Bat bugs are treated very similar to bed bugs. Bats are their preferred host, but this does not negate them from humans. They do tend to come once the bats are gone because they are looking for a host. We would recommend using Temprid SC as a treatment for the rooms. You will mix 16 mL per gallon of water and treat in the room that has the bugs as well as all the surrounding rooms to prevent them from spreading. This will be applied with a pump sprayer. You will do this every 10-14 days until you do not see any activity for 30 days. We would also recommend using Cimexa Dust in the wall voids. You will do a couple of puffs per wall outlet and light plate with a hand duster. You will do this in all the wall voids of the home.

    Should Temprid SC be mixed with distilled water or will regular tap water work?

    When mixing Temprid SC, you can use regular tap water. It is mixed at 8 ml per gallon of water for most applications per 1,000 sq ft area. Please refer to the product label for complete mixing and application instructions.

    What is the difference between Suspend SC and Temprid SC?
    A

    Temprid SC and Suspend SC are both products that contain different active ingredients that are classified as a synthetic pyrethroid so they really are very similar in the way that they work. Unlike Suspend, Temprid offers a unique dual mode of action by combining two powerful and effective residual insecticides: beta-cyfluthrin and imidacloprid. (Imidacloprid is in a different class of insecticides, neonicotinoids.) The result is Temprid, which provides quick knockdown and long residual control and works great for resistance strains of some pests.  It all comes down more to what you are treating for when deciding which would be best for your situation.     I have rental property empty with bed bugs, can i steam clean the carpets or what do i need to do?
    A
    Since bedbugs can live in wall voids, behind baseboards and in other hidden areas you will have to do more than steam the carpets, though steaming the carpets can help. We recommend using a hand duster to apply dust insecticide such as Cimexa dust to the wall voids and power outlets. We also recommend using a spray in the cracks and crevices around the baseboards and other areas such as Temprid SC to eliminate hidden bedbugs as they emerge from hiding. Because no one is living there the bedbugs can be dormant which could prolong control efforts.

    My temprid has a darker type solution on top like it had seperated. Is my temprid still some good?
    I only had it for a couple of months and did not even use it yet.

    Absolutely,  Temprid and most all concentrates that we sell have a 3 to 5 year shelf life.  Many concentrates contain different active ingredients, some heavier than others which is why they can separate if left on a shelf for a few months.  It is no problem though.  Just shake the bottle for about 10 to 15 seconds and the solution will reset and look normal.

    Do you have to be certified in the State of Indiana, or any other state to use Temprid SC?
    Also, do you need to be certified to use Diatomaceous Earth powder?

    The only time you need to be certified and licensed is when there are restrictions for purchase in a specific state or if you plan to treat someone else's home or property for profit. As a homeowner, you may apply Diatomaceous Earth and Temprid SC to your own home without being certified/licensed in Indiana.

    What to use when your up against a lot of Bed Bugs?
    I have set off 20 foggers and used 3 gal of spray and a pro gave up on it too?

    There is hope! We would recommend using Temprid SC.  Temprid will treat even resistant bed bugs.

    Temprid SC for Bed Bug Control:

    • Use at a rate of 0.27 fl oz (8 milliliters) of Temprid SC per gallon of water.
    • Controls bed bug populations that are resistant to pyrethroid insecticides. Spray bugs directly wherever possible following site directions below:
    • For infested mattresses, remove linens and wash before reuse. Apply to tufts, seams, folds, and edges until moist. Allow to dry before remaking bed.
    • Apply to bedsprings, box springs, and the interior of bed frames or headboards, including all cracks and joints.
    • When bed bugs are found in upholstered furniture, apply only to the infested tufts, seams, folds and edges, but do not apply to flat surfaces where prolonged human contact will occur. If bugs heavily infest furniture (inside cushions and/or batting) apply a labeled insecticide dust.
    • Apply as a crack and crevice treatment to all baseboards, moldings, beneath floor coverings and carpets, closets, shelves, curtains, furniture and picture frames that may provide harborage to bed bugs.
    • Temprid SC is not repellent to bed bugs, can withstand up to 8 hours of bed bug heat treatments (140 F), and prevents bed bug infestations for up to 6 months.

    Temprid SC would be mixed at 16 ml per gallons of water and applied at a low-pressure setting along baseboards, window and door frames, on the underside of furniture, behind bookshelves, and in other problem areas as listed on the product label. Residual sprays need to be reapplied every month to every 3 months, depending on the level of infestation. It is also a good idea to alternate products with different active ingredients each application. This will help prevent the roaches from quickly building up a resistance to any single active ingredient. Please take a moment to read How To Get Rid Of Roaches for more tips and advise.

    Temprid SC Insecticide has a shelf life of 3-5 years if stored in a cool dry place. Most chemicals do not provide expiration dates. Instead, they provide the date of manufacturing on their bottles.

    How does Temprid SC Insecticide work?
    A

    Temprid SC Insecticide is a suspension concentrate formulation of two insecticide active ingredients, imidacloprid and beta-cyfluthrin. These two active ingredients affect targets pests differently, offering complete and unique control for the toughest pests, even when resistance is a concern. Imidacloprid is a patented neonicotinoid manufactured by Bayer Cropscience. Neonicotinoids refer to the class neuro-active insecticides that are modeled after nicotine. Imidacloprid works by disrupting inhibiting stimuli transmission within the nervous system of a given insect when that insect either ingests or absorbs the poison into its body. More specifically, imidacloprid blocks a certain type of neuronal pathways which are much more prevalent in insects than mammals. That is why the chemical is much more toxic to insects than humans or animals. Because of its slower kill time, imidacloprid is used when a transfer effect is desired for treatment of social insects such as ants and cockroaches.

    Beta-cyfluthrin is a synthetic pyrethroid that attacks the central nervous system of target pests. Made to mimic the effects on insects of naturally occurring pyrethrum, man-made beta-cyfluthrin has the advantage of remaining effective far longer than pyrethrins. In Temprid SC, beta-cyfluthrin provides a quick knockdown for immediate control, while the imidacloprid provides long-lasting results and far-reaching control through a transfer effect.

    Can I spray Temprid SC on rose bushes to kill Japanese beetles?

    Temprid SC is not labeled for turf and ornamental treatment so we cannot recommend it for use on your rose bushes for Japanese beetles.  However, our most popular product for general pest control is Talstar, and it is labeled for indoor and outdoor use like the Temprid SC.  The Talstar though is labeled for lawn and ornamentals as well and is one of our most popular products for Japanese beetle control.  It is perfectly fine to apply Talstar to your rose bushes.

    What is the strongest most effective chemical to kill bed bugs?
    I have used temprid SC for about 8 treatments. most bugs appear to have been killed I am still seeing some new activity we recently moved I don't know if I have disturbed colonies that were dormant or if I had inherited some new ones. from what I have read it may be wise to switch to another poison or use two poisons I am almost out of time. I need to buy some more so I need some direction please as for proneness please believe me I have been extremely thorough. I have also used two packs of the nuvon strips in blue tubs. the items in the blue tubs have been in there for over a month. I have some clothing in black plastic bags that have not been treated yet but have not been opened yet either. before I revisit the tubs for the bags I wish to make sure I have an all clear in my new house.

    While, Temprid SC is the best liquid insecticide to use for treating bedbugs, it will not treat an infestation alone. Please take a look at our Bed Bug Kit #2 or Bed Bug Kit #3 . These kits contain all the necessary products to fully treat and eradicate a bedbug infestation.

    Temprid SC or Fenvastar EcoCap is mixed in a 1 gallon sprayer and applied around the perimeter of the room(s) along baseboards, floorboards, headboards and walls.

    Cimexa Dust is applied to wall voids, inside box spring, crack and crevices where bedbugs can't go (behidn picture frames, under furniture, cracks of dresser drawers, join cracks and hollow tubing of bed frames, etc) - Only need a fine coating, do not over dust. Using 2oz of dust per 100sq ft, 1/4oz of dust to each wall void. How to Apply Dust Article here

    Bedlam - Spot Treatments on mattresses, upholstered furniture, drawers, bed frames, carpeted areas, and curtains. Provides contact kill and leaves 2 week residual.

    Steri-Fab - Alcohol based contact kill that does not leave any residual after it is dry making it safe for comforters, mattresses, sheets, cushions, dog beds etc.

    Bellow Hand Duster - used to apply dust to crack & crevice, under baseboars, box springs. Fill 1/2 way with dust, not to the top b/c it needs air to pump the dust out.
