    Q
when using termidor Sc do I have to do the whole perimiter of the home the same day ?
Can I do two sides one week and two sides another?
    A
You do not have to do the whole treatment the same day or the same week. As long as you are treating properly and having at least 24 hours of dry weather after each application you can split it up however is best for you and your schedule.

    Q
Active subterranian termites in the crawlspace
I have active subterranian termites in the crawl space. There are tubes going up the inside concrete wall of the crawl space. Should I knock the tubes down first before trenching and applying termidor sc along the crawl space wall, and can I apply termidor sc directly on the mud tubes on the concrete crawl space wall?
    A
Termidor SC can be used in a crawl space. You can knock the tubes out before trenching in the area. You will dig a 6 by 6 inch trench around the crawl space and pour 4 gallons per 10 lineal feet.

    Q
Applying termidor around long tree perimeter
i have termite prob on a living tree how far from their tree base do I need to dig trench for treatment? Could product harm tree?
    A
Termites do not usually infest any living piece of wood or tree as they go after dead and decaying wood matter. Are you sure they are termites or that part of the tree isnt dead? Termidor cannot be used away from the foundation of the home/structure unless you are direct treating a carton nest as defined by the Termidor product label. It is not allowed to be used as a trench treatment or drench on or around a tree out on the property for control of any pest. A better option would be to use a product like Talstar P around the base of the tree if you are concerned there could be termites in that vacinity. Talstar would safe to use on the tree and would eliminate any insects in the soil where you treated and any that pass through the soil as well.

    Q
    How rain fast is Termidor?
I applied Termidor for a major ant problem around the house at 8:30 pm. The next day around noon we had a torrential downpour. Do I need to reapply? How quickly should it work?
    A
Termidor SC will become rain fast after it has dried. This can take up to 6 hours. As long as the treated area was dry, you should be safe.

  • Asked by Steve from Brattleboro Vt
    06/29/2015
    Q
Would we use Termidor SC to treat an old nesting sight and very minimal termite damage?
    A
We recommend that you apply a termiticide in a trench and drilled holes around the perimeter of your home to provide a barrier that will last up to 10 years in the soil. It will eradicate the termites in as little as 90 days depending on the size of the colony or colonies. If you plan to treat the home yourself, we recommend that you get the meausrements (lineal footage) and read the How to Perform a Termite Treatment Article.

  • Asked by Fred from Davie Fl 33324 And Fl 33009
    06/28/2015
    Q
How much product do I pour down each hole?
DO I DRILL TO TNE DIRT THEN HOW MUCH DO I POUR INTHEHOLE WHAT SIZE IS THE HOLE
    A
If concrete such as a carport slab or sidewalk is against the foundation in the area where you need to treat, you will be required to drill through the concrete to apply the termiticide solution to the soil. Using the hammer drill with a 1/2" x 18" concrete drill bit, drill holes every 12" into the concrete along the foundation wall.

You are not only drilling through just the concrete here, but also as deep as you can into the dirt. The deeper the better. Once the holes are drilled, you fill at the same rate you did the trench, 4 gallons per 10 feet. If you drilled the holes 12 inches apart, then you would have 10 holes over 10 feet that you are trying to fill with 4 gallons. This works out to be a little less than half a gallon per hole. To fill these I would recommend using the one gallon sprayer on a "pin stream" setting so you can force the liquid down the hole and not splash it everywhere. You can also use a funnel and pour the termiticide down the holes. It is difficult to get 4 gallons per 10 feet in the holes, so it is important that you use a long drill bit, at least 18" long so you can bore out enough dirt to hold the termiticide. Sometimes the ground is slow to soak up the termiticide you place in the holes. You may need to fill the holes, then go work on something else for an hour, come back and fill them again, go work on something else... 3 to 4 times to get the proper amount down the holes. Once the holes are filled all you need to do is patch them with a concrete patch filler you can buy at a home improvement or hardware store or you can use our Trebor plugs that will close the hole with no concrete mess.

    Q
Will Termidor SC work for Florida carpenter ants and other carpenter ants?
Are both attracted to the same baits? Florida carpenters seem more finicky-can't get them to take baits.
    A

Carpenter ants in FL would be the same as carpenter ants in other regions of the country. We generally recommend using Termidor SC outdoors around the perimeter of your home. This is labeled to be used every six months outdoors.

What types of bait are you using? We would be happy to make another recommendation if you have been using them for a while.

    Q
    Termidor for active infestation
I have an active termite infestation. I can see the mud tubes where the termites are currently entering my house. They are in a crawl space area which I have access to, but it would be difficult to use the trench method because the space is so tight. Would it be reasonable to saturate the mud tubes and nearby soil with termidor as an immediate fix and then use bait stations around the perimeter of the house for long term treatment?
    A

We would recommend doing a trench treatment around your home for an active infestation of termites.  We have a helpful article on How to Get Rid of Termites that we recommend reviewing for the best advice.

Please be sure to read the product label of any insecticide you choose to use to get information on the needed personal protective safety gear you will need. In most situations it is recommended that you wear long pants, a long sleeved shirt, closed toe shoes with socks, chemical resistant gloves and goggles. In areas where ventilation is poor a manufacturer may recommend you wear a mask or a respirator. We have put together 2 different safety kits that will make selecting correct safety gear easier for you.

    Q
I am looking for someting that a wasp would bring back to the nest to distroy it.
I have nesst in the gutters and behind the house siding
    A
Termidor can be sprayed on the home and on the siding where wasp activity has been noticed. Termidor does not give a fast knockdown but it does transfer back to the nest to eliminate the other wasps inside the nest. You should see complete results within 1-3 weeks depedning on the size of the wasp colony when using Termidor.

    Q
Our whole yard, grass and flower bed and along driveway is filled with little brown ants. We have a dog.
Can I spray the entire yard? Sandy soil.
    A
ermidor SC is not allowed to be used anywhere other than around the foundation of the home 1-2 feet up and 1-2 feet out. It cannot be broadcast across yards or flowerbeds for any type of insect control, especially with sandy soils. If you want an insecticide that can be broadcast across the yard for ant and general insect control we would recommend something like Talstar P. Its a great general and broad use insecticide that you mix at the rate of 1oz per gallon of water.

    Q
Can I pre-treat a new house for termites and spiders with Termidor SC?
    A
If you want to pre-treat before the slab is pured to control termites, Termidor SC would be the product of choice. Pre-slab and barrier treatments can last for up to 10 years for subterranean termite control.  For general pest control around the inside of and the outside of the house can be done with Talstar P. It is widely used by pest control companies because it is labeled for almost every insect you could have a problem with and you can use it outside the home as well as inside, it is odorless and very safe for use around children and pets.  It is a liquid concentrate that you mix with water in a one gallon hand pump sprayer.  It will last for approximately 30 days outside in between treatments.  It is also labeled for lawn and ornamental use, and can be used on trees, plants, bushes and shrubs for all sorts of ornamental pests including Japanese beetles, mosquitoes, and other leaf eating pests.

  • Asked by Jim from Conyers, Ga
    06/11/2015
    Q
Would it be safe to use this product as a topical application near the edge of a vegetable garden?
The garden is on a slight slope & I would do the "foot up & foot out" application on the side of my house, which is at the top of the slope.
    A
As long as the Termidor SC was only applied outside of the actual garden area it should not effect the soil inside the garden area. If there is a doubt if some Termidor SC got inside of the garden area you can remove the soil and replace it with fresh soil to avoid any contamination issues.
