Glue traps probably not the best for me

Caught a sparrow, good thing I didn't see it. They got it loose, but it lost feathers. The rat only stuck one foot on it and the got loose. We picked them up and threw them away. Not the way I really want to view some creature exiting. We did , however, use bait traps and this method has worked to our best knowledge. The bait disappeared for weeks and then stopped. The rats were eating our equipment, clothes, cushions, fabric, we had to do something fast and the bait traps worked.

I use these as a secondary way of catching stray mice in my heated garage. It's getting cooler here so they're all running inside. I put them on the cement ledge in the garage. The mice stick on them very well and haven't had an escapee as of yet and I've been using them for 4 years! They usually get caught on one end or the other of the pad. So I cut that half off, throw away the mouse part and put the other half back down. I always get 2 mice out of 1 pad. I do have the use a solvent like Goof Off to clean the scissors I use to cut the pad in half. Now that I'm writing this, I could cut the pads ahead of time but... It's easy enough to cut them once you caught one. Happy hunting!

Do not purchase this Trapper Rat Glue Board Traps. They contain a glue that if you get on your floors or carpet, you are stuck. you have a mes that you can't get rid of. Believe me rats do spread it, It is an absolute mess.
Expert response:
Glue from the glueboards can be removed from surfaces using vegetable oil if contact is made.
