Weeds Were Taking Over
By Natalie on 03/02/2013
Drought conditions continue in Central Texas, which has taken a toll on my once beautiful St. Augustine grass. Each year more and more weeds have popped up to the point that I was afraid that the St. Augustine had been choked completely out. The types of weeds were also of a variety ranging from the usual dandelions with and without thorns to all kinds of creeping ones like chickweed and hen pen. I had to find something that actually worked so I relied upon some advise from our local county extension agent. He highly recommended a post-emergient called Trimec. With some hesitation, I ordered Trimec. It's been two weeks since I applied it to my entire yard and it is very evident that Trimec works!

My experience
By Dwaine on 04/19/2013
Absolutely knocked the weeds down..!! This product lived up to my expectations and more. Weeds that EndRun had little affect on, felt the power of 992 within hours after application. *** If you have tough weeds in your yard, Trimec 992 will solve your problem in one application.

Oxalis Terminator
By Anonymous on 06/25/2013
I'm in Southern California and have Bermuda grass with that devil oxalis weed since buying the house in '94. Had not been able to kill it off with anything until now with Trimec 992. Husband and I applied it with the hose end sprayer also ordered from here. Immediate results! It did not harm the lawn. Will be putting down a second application this weekend and spot treating thereafter - if necessary, but doubt it will be needed. You can do a second application in 3 weeks. We are SO thrilled with this stuff - it is well worth the money. You will not be disappointed. Be advised it is a very strong pro formula. Would suggest wearing a mask to cover nose and mouth so you're not getting the fumes during application.

Will Trimec 992 be effective stopping the Japanese stiltgrass applied as a pre emergent (early spring) and not kill the vinca.
Trimec 992 Broadleaf Herbicide is not labeled to control Japanese stiltgrass nor does it have any preventative properties. If applied when it is too cold it simply will not work. Dimension 2EW Herbicide is labeled to prevent Japanese stilgrass (Mary's grass) while also being safe for ornamentals such as vinca
The label for Trimec 992 Broadleaf Herbicide states that an application around a cistern or a well may result in contamination of drinking water. We would recommend keeping applications at least 15 feet away from the wellhead and avoid areas of runoff into groundwater.
Trimec 992 Broadleaf Herbicide is labeled to control dollarweed. Best results are obtained when applied to weeds that have just started to grow and are young.
Trimec 992 Broadleaf Herbicide is labeled to control Florida Pusely. You may check out application rates on page 4 of product's label.
I have Florida Pusley and Creeping Beggerweed that I want to get rid of. Which Trimec am I suppose to use? Appears to be more than 1 type….
Trimec 992 Broadleaf Herbicide is labeled to be applied to established Bahia as directed. Bahia is a tolerant turf species but slight yellowing will occur and disappear after about a week. It will target actively growing Florida pusley, creeping beggarweed and other listed weeds. It is applied at 3-4 pints/acre in sufficient volume of water.
Our house is on a property with well water. The well is just over 100 feet deep.
Trimec 992 Broadleaf Herbicide and other herbicides application are recommended to be kept at least 10 feet away from a well or cistern.
Trimec 992 Broadleaf Herbicide is not specifically labeled for knapweed. You may be able to use a product like Weedmaster depending on the area you treating.
To mix Trimec 992 Broadleaf Herbicide and Imidacloprid you can conduct a jar test to see if they mix well together. You need to make sure that you are able to follow both labels and their rates when mixing.
My neighbors don't like the smell of Weedmaster
Trimec 992 Broadleaf Herbicide has an animes odor per the SDS that should dissipate once dry, typically after 4-6 hours. We have not heard of it having a strong lingering odor when used as directed on the label.
Trimec 992 Broadleaf Herbicide is not labeled for wisteria.
To treat wisteria vines, it is recommended to cut the vine at the base as close to the ground as possible and use round up over the cut edge for best results. Roundup Quick Pro would be recommended to apply at the highest rate and paint onto the edge with a brush.
Regular 24D really turns the Bermuda grass brown and has to be reapplied to kill clover which knocks back the grass even more. Is this product more effective than regular 24D for control of clover in Bermuda? Thanks
Yes, Trimec 992 Broadleaf Herbicide is a great 3 active ingredient herbicide to get better control of broadleaf weeds than straight 2,4-D. Clover is best treated when it just starts to emerge and is young, more mature clover may require repeat applications.
Trimec 992 Broadleaf Herbicide does not list sandbur on its label.
Yes, Trimec 992 Broadleaf Herbicide is labeled to control clover
Trimec 992 Broadleaf Herbicide should not be used near desired ornamentals such as trees. It should be kept outside the dripline.
Trimec 992 Broadleaf Herbicide is not labeled to be used in a fertigation system. It should only be mixed with water as directed on the product label and applied within 24 hours.
