Trimec Southern application rates range from 0.37 to 0.75 fluid ounces per 1,000 square feet, depending on the turf species. When applying approximately 1 gallon of finished spray per 1,000 square feet, use:

• Bermudagrass and bentgrass: 0.75 fluid ounces per gallon
• Bluegrass, fescue, and zoysiagrass: 0.75 fluid ounces per gallon
• Centipedegrass, St. Augustinegrass, and seashore paspalum: 0.37 to 0.55 fluid ounces per gallon

The amount of water is a carrier, so calibrate the sprayer to apply the correct quantity of herbicide over 1,000 square feet. Do not exceed the labeled rate for your turfgrass.

How much Trimec Southern should I use in a 2-gallon sprayer?

If 2 gallons of water will cover approximately 2,000 square feet, mix up to 1.5 fluid ounces of Trimec Southern for turfgrass labeled at the 0.75-fluid-ounce rate. For sensitive grasses such as centipedegrass, St. Augustinegrass, and seashore paspalum, use 0.74 to 1.1 fluid ounces per 2,000 square feet.

The correct amount depends on both the grass species and total area being treated, not simply the sprayer’s capacity. Measure the treatment area and calibrate the sprayer before mixing.
