I use this product to controll southern weeds that invade my nc lawn. Product does as it states without damaging my centipeede. I heard about this product from my ag dealer, and I haven't stopped using it yet. I would definitely recommend it to anyone...

Kills my worst lawn weeds (lot was former pasture land)
By D.m. on 03/30/2015
I've been using Trimec Southern for 4 years now and it knocks down my worst weeds consistently without affecting my Bermudagrass lawn in Central Alabama. My lot was formerly pasture land, so it's got some of the hardiest weeds I've ever faced and Trimec kills everything and leaves my lawn intact.

I have been please with the results that I have gotten do far. The only negative is it is a bit slow working. I am very happy that it did not kill my centipede grass. I would recommend this product to anyone with weed issues.

Great stuff
By Larry on 03/15/2016
I have used this for 3 years now & is as advertised - kills allmost all broadleaf type weeds. Next year I will also go with a pre-emergent for the grassy type weeds. Waited too long this year, and am paying the price with my weed popper, which right after a rain orks pretty well.

Killed my Centipede Grass
By Bob on 07/16/2017
1 oz per gal of water and the grass died deader than a kipper on a cracker. Used it for spot spraying weed thank heavens and not total coverage. You get measurements of .37 oz to 2 oz as recommended amounts per 1000 sq ft (which unless info if you are a farmer). i understand that 1 gal is 1000 sf. The Trimec I used before (not the one for souther lawns) worked great. Not sure what is going on with the southern lawn formula.

The Trimec Southern Broadleaf Herbicide does not specifically state if if mowing before or after is beneficial to the effectiveness of the application, but we generally recommend that you do not mow within 2 days of herbicide applications. Applications need to be made when there is no expected rainfall for 24hrs, and temperatures are not above 90 degrees. DO NOT apply to newly seeded turf until after the 2nd or 3rd mowing. Being a post emergent, this product will absorb better and more thoroughly if the weeds have some growth to them and are not cut short.
