Product Overview

Turf Blue Pro with Yellow Jacket is a mixture of 4 high-quality and excellent performing Kentucky bluegrass varieties. It features great density, color, and outstanding overall performance. This blend is formulated to extremely rapid germination and fast establishment. The Turf Blue Pro with Yellow Jacket is proven to provide a year-round bluegrass quality. It excels in traffic tolerance and recovery plus, it is disease-resistant. Powered by Barserati which is certified to have exceptional tolerance against drought by the TWCA. Ideal for use on lawns, golf courses, parks, and multi-use sports fields. A plant that produces a medium-fine textured turf. Available in 10 lb, 25 lb, and 50 lb bags.

Turf Blue Pro with Yellow Jacket is coated with Yellow Jacket Enhanced Seed Coating. Yellow Jacket is like having a sponge around each and every seed. Once water is applied, the coating holds that moisture and other nutrients around the seed - making them available as needed for germination and establishment. Without coating, the water simply passes the seed allowing it to dry out, resulting in more frequent watering and increased expense.

Uses

Turf Blue Pro is best used where color and/or drought tolerance are necessary traits. These strengths make Turf Blue Pro perfect for the home and landscape sector but carries the genetics and tested performance to provide equally amazing results in golf and sports turf settings.

Establishment

Seeding and establishment may be done in spring or fall, but be wary of summer or winter annuals. For better early weed control, consider an application of Mesotrione in the seeding process. Plant seeds to a depth of no more than 0.25-0.50” below the soil surface to ensure good seed to soil contact. Thatch layers will only slow or impede germination success. After spreading seed, keep seedbed moist throughout germination, with extra care during the early stages to prevent seed from drying out after initial seed imbibition. Germination should begin within 10 to 12 days and be complete within 21 days. The stand should achieve high levels of percent cover by 35 days. Remember, the turfgrass establishment process may take 6 months to a year.

Seeding Rate

  • Seeding Rate: 2-3lbs./M
  • Overseeding Rate: 1-2 lbs./M

  • Mowing (Down to): 0.500 inch
