Andersons 0.48 Barricade Pre-Emergent Herbicide is designed to stop weeds before they germinate, preventing them from growing in your lawn when the weather warms. Andersons controls over 30 of the most common broadleaf and grassy weeds, including crabgrass, goosegrass, chickweed, poa annua, henbit, and oxalis.

The active ingredient, Prodiamine, stops undesirable weeds from growing without harming established lawns and landscape ornamentals. It is safe to use on most turfgrasses, both warm-season and cool-season, including Bermuda, fescue, St. Augustine, zoysia, ryegrass, bentgrass, and centipede.

Andersons Barricade Pre-Emergent Herbicide should be applied after the last frost of the spring but before weeds begin to germinate. For optimal control of crabgrass, you'll want to apply it to your lawn before the soil temperature warms to 55 degrees. You can also apply in the fall once soil temperatures fall below 50 degrees but before the ground freezes.

To apply Andersons Barricade pre-emergent weed control, begin by calibrating your granular spreader. Refer to the product label or the manual of your spreader for your spreader's settings.

Next, don your personal protective equipment including gloves, long sleeves, pants, and closed toe shoes. Then, pour the herbicide granules into your spreader. Andersons 0.48

Barricade pre-emergent can be applied at a rate of 1.8 lbs. to 7.2 lbs. per 1,000 sq. feet. Refer to the product label for how many granules per 1,000 square feet to use for your turf type.

Walk back and forth across your lawn in even rows, spreading the granules uniformly as you walk. Be sure to use your spreader guard to prevent granules from being thrown onto sidewalks, driveways, and the street. Sweep any granules that do land on pavement back into your lawn.

Once you have covered your lawn in an even layer of granules, you will need to activate the product by watering the granules in . Use a sprinkler or hose to apply at least half an inch of water to your lawn. If rain is predicted in the near future, you can allow nature to water in the granules for you. Granules must be watered in within 14 days of application and before weeds begin to germinate.

This pre-emergent weed control should not be applied to newly seeded or sodded lawns. Instead, wait until the lawn has been established for at least one year before your application.

You can also apply the granules to landscape and ornamental garden beds as it is safe to use with most non-crop plants. Refer to the label for a list of ornamentals Andersons Barricade Pre-emergent Herbicide can be used with.
