Dimension 0.27G Pre-Emergent Herbicide stops weeds before they germinate, preventing them from growing in your lawn. The active ingredient, Dithiopyr, stops over 30 of the most common broadleaf and grassy weeds from growing without harming established lawns and landscape ornamentals.

Howard Johnson's Dimension 0.27G Pre-Emergent is safe to use on most turfgrasses, both warm-season and cool-season, including Bermuda, fescue, St. Augustine, zoysia, ryegrass, and centipede. It can control crabgrass, poa annua, bittercress, carpetweed, chickweed, oxalis, spurge and more. While this weed preventer does not control established weeds, it does provide post-emergent control of crabgrass in the early stages of development if applications are made to crabgrass prior to the first tiller or 3-leaf growth phase.

Dimension 0.27G Pre-Emergent Herbicide should be applied after the last frost of the spring but before weeds begin to germinate. For optimal control of crabgrass, you'll want to apply it to your lawn before the soil temperature warms to 55 degrees. You can also apply in the fall once soil temperatures fall below 70 degrees but before the ground freezes. It can be applied as a single application or as a split application in the spring, summer, or fall, with a maximum of 3 applications per year.

To apply Dimension 0.27G weed control, begin by calibrating your granular spreader. Refer to the product label or the manual of your spreader for your spreader's settings.

Next, put on your personal protective equipment including gloves, long sleeves, pants, and closed toe shoes. Then, pour the herbicide granules into your spreader. Howard Johnson's Dimension 0.27G pre-emergent can be applied at a rate of 2.3 to 4.25 lbs per 1,000 sq. feet depending on the type of weeds you wish to control.

Walk back and forth across your lawn in even rows, spreading the granules uniformly as you walk. Be sure to use your spreader guard to prevent granules from being thrown onto sidewalks, driveways, and the street. Sweep any granules that land on pavement back into your lawn.

Once you have covered your lawn in an even layer of granules, you will need to activate the product by watering the granules in. Use a sprinkler or hose to apply at least half an inch of water to your lawn. If rain is predicted in the near future, you can allow nature to water in the granules for you. Granules must be watered in within 14 days of application and before weeds begin to germinate.

This pre-emergent weed control should not be applied to newly seeded or sodded lawns.  Allow the new turf to develop a good root system and stand uniformly before applying. If you are reseeding or overseeding after treating with this product, wait until 12 weeks from the last application.

You can also apply the granules to established landscape and ornamental garden beds as it is safe to use with many non-crop plants. Be sure to check the label for the full list of tolerant ornamental plants.

Refer the Dimension 0.27G Pre-Emergent Herbicide product label for detailed application rates and usage instructions.
