What should I do to get rid of the remaining rats while they don't eat Fastrac blox?

It is more than 9 weeks since rats have been found in my house's backyard. They also pass through the roof to the front yard and vice versa. I purchased Fastrac blox bait and deployed two couple of stations in both places. After some days, two of the rats (12-14 cm long) ate the baits and then died less than 48 hours. After that, no rat ate the bait. I have replaced the new baits with the old ones, but it didn't work. After that, I smeared the baits with wheat flour which worked briefly. Just one bait disappeared and the others remained intact. I even powdered one bait put it on a piece of bread and rubbed some cheese on it. They ate just the bread. What should I do to get rid of the remaining rats?

Answer:

Fastrac All-Weather Blox is an excellent rodenticide that contains proven food attractants, so we do not advise that you add other foods to it. Be sure that you always wear gloves when handling bait and stations since rats are very wary of new things in their environment as well as human scent.

If the rats are getting inside the home, then be sure you have located and sealed up any entrance points for long-term control. We do have some nice Exclusion products you can view here.

You should be placing secure stations every 15-30 feet for best control of rats around the home. You can switch to a different bait, if you like, but also be sure to check for competing food sources in the area. You could also opt to use snap traps instead of stations. The EZ Snap Rat Stations are a great option because there is a reusable snap trap inside a station, plus a color-coded zip tie to indicate whether the snap trap has been tripped.
