A distinctive feature of the station is the EZ set indicator tie. The EZ set indicator tie is a two color zip tie of yellow and black. Use of the EZ set indicator tie ensures safety when engaging the snap trap. The indicator tie is attached to the snap trap station both through the inside and outside. To set the trap, just pull the indicator tie until yellow and black shows outside the box. When the trap has been tripped, the indicator tie is all black. I like that birds, bigger animals like beneficial possum and outdoor cats in the area won't step on it. My neighbor caught a Robin in his unhoused snap trap it was sad. Thats why I got these. I put it out at 6:30 PM, and unfortunately by 10 PM I had a rat in it. I put little pieces of cheese all around it and then cheese inside and on the platform.

I've had 2 of these traps in my backyard. And the are doing an excellent job. Dried pineapple has worked best as bait. I have been very successful, and I mainly attribute that to using gloves and finding the right bait for these rodents.

I have 3 Shepherds and 9 Chickens.
We would recommend trapping using a product such as the EZ Rodent (Rat) Bait Station it has a built-in snap trap mounted inside of the station to reduce accidental trips and made with a durable hinge design for extended durability. Applying these would be a safer option for areas with animals and edible vegetation.
