Gel baits such as Advion Ant Bait Gel contains an insecticide along with a sugar based food attractant that appeals to foraging worker ants that are looking for sweet food sources. Foraging ants are in search of a sweet or protien food source depending on the needs of the colony therefore it is recommeneded when baiting for ants to offer both a sweet bait (gel) and a protein (granule) ant bait in the bait plate stations.
