    Q
When using Advion Roach Bait Gel, if a bird eats a dead bug, will it harm a bird?
    A

It is possible for a bird to be harmed after ingesting the Advion Roach Bait Gel as they can be pretty sensitive to chemicals. We would recommend only applying in areas that the bird does not have access to. We have a great video here that shows where to apply the bait. You can see the video by clicking here. In order for the bird to be harmed from eating a killed or dying roach from the bait, they would generally have to eat a large amount but we would recommend checking with your vet to be sure as birds can be more sensitive than other animals.

    Q
If the Advion Roach Bait becomes hard after application, is it still effective? For how long?
    A

Yes, Advion Roach Bait Gel will work even if it hardens, though it works best when it’s soft. We do recommend cleaning up and replacing any bait that has not been consumed every 2-3 weeks. You may want to take a look at our Roach Control Treatment Guide for further tips and information.

    Q
Could I use Advion Roach Bait Gel in the garage or indoors?
    A

Advion Roach Bait Gel should be used indoors if there is activity present inside. It can be used up against the structure in bait plate stations or in the garage area if there is activity there. We would recommend that you look over our article on How To Get Rid of Roaches for more information.

I just fogged my apartment with a hotshot fogger then your order just came. Can I use the Advion Roach Bait Gel now?
    A

You can absolutely use a fogger/bomb prior to applying Advion Roach Bait Gel. You will then eliminate moisture/food sources and do a very thorough cleaning. After that, you can apply your Advion Roach Bait Gel. Q
How do I get rid of roaches in my dishwasher?
    A

We do not offer a product that can be applied inside the dishwasher for roach control. You will want to keep it dry after each use and apply products in the Roach Control Rotation A Kit in the kitchen for treating roaches along with non-chemical methods. Please take a few moments to review our treatment article on How to Get Rid of Roaches for a successful eradication program.

    Q
How effective is Advion Roach Bait Gel in treating for roaches in a 2 story duplex? Will this kill the roaches coming from the 1st floor?
    A

When treating shared unit buildings, using Advion Roach Bait Gel on its own would not be the most effective way to eliminate a roach colony. The best way to eradicate roaches is to use a combination of a residual spray, a roach bait, and an insect growth regulator. You may want to consider using one of our Roach Control Kits, as thekits will provide all of these products.  We would also suggest applying an insecticide dust in the wall voids to help protect your home from roaches transferring from other units.  You may also want to look over our Roach Control Guide for more information.

    Q
Is roach gel or a bait station better to use in a bedroom?
There have been many baby roaches in my bathroom and now in my bedroom for the past few weeks. I've been using diatomaceous earth and boric acid. After about a week of using the diatomaceous earth & boric acid I now see a few baby roaches on some days and more on other days. The number I see seems to vary each day. Not sure why that is but I want to try a roach gel instead. I also just ordered Gentrol growth regulator stations to use in conjunction with the gel. If the gel is going to attract roaches, is it better to use it only in the bathroom and not in my bedroom as I don't want tons more roaches flocking to my bedroom as they're really freaking me out and I am afraid to go to sleep as I've found a few in my bed. Should I maybe use a bait station in my bedroom instead of the gel? Does it matter which one I use? Is one better than the other for a bedroom?
    A

We recommend using a roach bait gel in most situations when you are actively finding roaches, especially in areas with lots of moisture like in a bathroom. Bait gel has more moisture than bait stations, it’s easy to apply directly into cracks and crevices, and you do not have to worry about the small size of stations that keep some roaches from entering. Using Gentrol along with a bait gel is perfect to control those smaller roaches, as well.

    Q
Would Advion be the right product to use for a heavy roach infestation in an apartment?
I just signed a one year lease for an apartment in a six unit building. I'm devastated because the roach infestation is like nothing I've ever seen before. I see upwards of 100 roaches a day throughout the five rooms. The landlord sprayed something that was utterly ineffective as are the variety of products I have bought myself. My sister used Advion in the past and highly recommends it for me. My concern is that without the other units using Advion, will my using it prevent the rest of the building's roaches from entering my treated unit?
    A

We would recommend that you dust the voids with Cimexa Dust using a dust applicator. Advion Roach bait is a great bait but with the amount of roaches that you currently are noticing, I would suggest using Maxforce FC Magnum (every couple of weeks-cleaning up previous bait placements) for a few months then switch to Advion after for another 3 months (replaceing every couple of weeks). I am not sure what and when the apartment was sprayed with so you may want to find out if you can if you plan to spray your apartment in the future. I can help you select a spray that will be effective for your needs and let you know when to treat based on the last application applied by the professional. Incorporating an insect growth regulator would be suggested also such as Gentrol Point Source Stations to impede their life cycle. You will want to keep the moisture sources down as much as possible inside of your unit and store food in airtight containers. You will want to clean out all large and small appliances also. Please take a few moments to review our treatment article/videos on How to Get Rid of Roaches for  inoformation on how to inplement a successful eradication program.

    Q
Can I use Advion Roach Bait Gel after exterminators sprayed the same day?
    A

You can use an insecticide spray and a bait like Advion Roach Bait Gel in the same room at the same time, just not on the same surfaces.  The rule of thumb is spray low (areas like baseboards, kick plates below cabinets, and under appliances) and bait high (in areas like inside cabinets and drawers and up higher near small appliances such as microwaves, toasters and coffee pots).  Please take a moment to look over our Roach Control Guide for more information on treating and preventing a roach infestation.

    Q
What can I use along with my insecticides to treat for roaches.
those two treatments for maintenance. I also use the Suspend at some locations inside. I have an old Florida home built on a stem wall with a crawl space. My only real problem is we periodically get Palmetto bugs (I know its probably not the right bug name but I am a Floridian and have always called those roaches that!) inside. I wouldn't even call it an infestation or a bad problem...it's Florida after all. But when I pull open the cover to the crawl space they scatter. Is there a way to eliminate them from underneath my home as well which would limit the access inside? I'd rather not crawl around inside the crawl space just to treat!!
    A

I would continue to treat with the perimeter sprays that your using.  I would also use a roach bait gel in the area of activity in the crawl space.  If you didn’t want to go into the crawl space treating with spray you can bait around the area close to the door.  I would use Advion roach gel and apply in small pea size dabs around the door.  This along with doing the treatments around the perimeter of the house, should help eliminate the population.  You may need to incorporate an IGR to get complete control of the population depending on the type of roach your dealing with.

Advion Roach Bait Gel does contain food grade materials that are meant to attract roaches. The product only needs to be used if there are roaches present. We would recommend waiting 30 days before removing the product once you have stopped seeing activity.

    Q
How long does it take to start see results from Advion Roach Bait Gel?
    A

Advion Roach Bait Gel is a slow kill so that it has time to be taken back to the colony and spread.  Roaches can start dying within a few hours to longer. How long it takes to eliminate a roach infestation depends on how large the infestation is, how consistent and thorough you are being with treatments and what products you are using. There is not a set time; it can take but it can take weeks or months even to get complete control. Advion Roach Bait gel is typically not used alone but in combination with other products. We would recommend one of our roach control kits. You can see the kits by clicking on the link here. We also have a great article for eliminating them that can offer some great advice; you can find it here.
