When using the Advion Roach Bait Gel you could use a Bait Plate Station we sell. These are low profile and economic. The stations keep sticky gels and granular baits in a contained space that is off countertops and other surfaces, but allows access to the bait for roaches. Be sure to remove the perforated tab when using Bait Plate Stations for roach control so that larger roaches have enough space to access the bait. Keep in mind that roaches will generally accept bait best when it is applied directly to cracks and crevices, rather than in a station.
When Advion Roach Bait Gel is runny, this usually indicates that it was stored in an area where it got too hot. If you were using it soon after receiving it, it may be that the product sat in a hot delivery truck before it got to you. While this will not affect the efficacy of the product, if it is difficult to use, it should firm up again if you place it in the refrigerator for a day or so.
Advion Roach Bait Gel is safe around children when applied as directed. You are applying the bait in areas that children cannot access so they should not come in contact with it. We have a great video here that shows where to apply the bait.
You might want to soak longer in hotter water. If a small amount is inside without blocking or causing difficulty dispersing the product it should be fine. Please let us know if you need anything else or if this is not effective.
Yes, when used as directed it is safe to use Advion Roach Bait Gel in areas that you would cook and eat as long as it does not contact food prep surfaces or dishes/utensils. While you could use both Advion Roach Bait Gel and Alpine at the same time it would be better to instead rotate between them every 3-4 months to prevent resistance build up to any one bait.
You can use an insecticide spray and a bait like Advion Roach Bait Gel in the same room at the same time, just not on the same surfaces. The rule of thumb is spray low (areas like baseboards, kick plates below cabinets, and under appliances) and bait high (in areas like inside cabinets and drawers and up higher near small appliances such as microwaves, toasters and coffee pots). Advion Roach Bait gel should be safe to use around any pet as long as you keep the application out of reach of the pet. Since you are applying a gel and not a spray, there is nothing released into the air where sensitive animals such as birds could run into respiratory issues. That being said, you should always defer to your veterinarian's advice. We do not have any other written safety information other than the information available on the product label and the MSDS. Per the label: Advion Cockroach Gel Bait may also be applied as a spot or thin bead to pest entry sites such as along windows, doors, between construction elements, sewer areas, adjacent trees which harbor cockroaches, along walls, garbage holding areas, or suitable placement site acting as a cockroach harborage. Place baits in such a way as to reduce the potential of subsequent human contact. Inspect Advion Cockroach Gel Bait placements periodically and apply fresh bait as needed. A thorough inspection around a structure may reveal areas where cockroaches are gaining access. Attempts should be made to remove the access.

Per the manufacturer, the shelf life of Advion Cockroach Gel Bait is up to 5 years as long as it’s stored in a temperature controlled environment and out of direct sunlight. Our product comes directly from the manufacturer.
The time it takes Advion Cockroach Gel Bait to work depends on the level of infestation so results will vary. It is recommended to replace bait placements after 14 days if roach activity is still present and continue to retreat every 14 days until roach activity has ceased. The IGR is an important part of a successful roach treatment plan to help stop the reproduction cycle and prevent juvenile stages from maturing to adults but does not have any killing properties to it.
If you are not currently using a residual insecticide like Advion WDG or Temprid FX to treat along baseboards, behind appliances, under and behind cabinets & sinks, around windows, doors and in corners, this is an effective way to eliminate roaches through contact as they cross treated areas. Residual insecticides are also the best way to prevent roaches, ants and other insects in the home.

The active ingedient in Advion Cockroach Gel Bait is a non repellent that is slow acting. This allows roaches to feed on the bait, take bait back to the colony and transfer to other roaches. We would recommend not killing or disturbing roaches and allow them to continue their normal activity to ensure the bait is taken bait to colony and transfered. Any dead roaches can be removed.
As difficult as it can be to see a roach and not kill it, that is the ideal approach when baiting with Advion Cockroach bait gel or using transfer products that are designed to get carried back to the nest. While killing a few here and there will not heavily impact your results, you would want to try and allow those you see out foraging for food to live and take the bait back to the ones in hiding at the source of your problem.
There is no valid reason to mix bait gels. It will not increase effectivess. You can certainly alternate between Advion Cockroach Gel Bait and Maxforce Impact Roach Gel Bait.
