Product Overview

The Anderson’s Goosegrass/Crabgrass Control is a herbicide specifically formulated to control both crabgrass and goosegrass. Contains two active ingredients that provide long-lasting pre-emergent control of unwanted weeds as they sprout. This granular weed preventer is perfect to apply in tall fescues, bermudagrass, bentgrass, perennial ryegrass, zoysiagrass, and perennial bluegrass. It may be applied on golf courses such as tees, greens, and on bentgrass fairways limited to given states and may be used once per year during Fall. It is highly suggested to limit the application of this pre-emergent herbicide to greens and tees to twice a year to avoid any crop injury. Apply using a push-type spreader or by a tractor-drawn spreader. Sold in a 28.8-lb bag.

PRECAUTIONS

IMPORTANT: THIS PRODUCT WILL NOT WORK UNLESS IT IS WATERED IN FOR 10-15 MINUTES. FOR SAFETY REASONS, WATER THIS PRODUCT IN AS SOON AS POSSIBLE FOLLOWING APPLICATION FOR 10-15 MINUTES AND DO NOT ALLOW CHILDREN OR PETS ON TREATED AREAS UNTIL DRY FOLLOWING THE WATERING.

WATERING-IN MAY BE PERFORMED BY THE COMMERCIAL APPLICATOR OR THE COMMERCIAL APPLICATOR MUST PROVIDE THE ABOVE WATERING-IN INSTRUCTIONS TO THE RESIDENT IN WRITING USING BOLD FACE TYPE AND/OR RED PRINT OR OTHER METHODS TO ENSURE WARNING IS PROMINENTLY DISPLAYED ON THE MATERIAL PROVIDED TO THE RESIDENT.

Do not use on home lawns, parks, recreation areas, or other public sites.

ESTABLISHED COOL AND WARM-SEASON GRASSES

This product may be used on bentgrass and bermudagrass putting greens only under conditions of very heavy goosegrass infestations and where the herbicidal side effects are tolerable.

This product may cause yellowing and/or thinning for up to 4 weeks on bentgrass and bermudagrass greens.

Do not use this product when the temperature is consistently below 50 degrees Fahrenheit or above 80 degrees Fahrenheit.

Not for use where Poa annua, annual ryegrass, or fine fescue are the desired turf or on dichondra or similar ground covers.

Complete any raking or aerifying of the turf before treatment so that the protective chemical barrier is not destroyed.

For best results apply to DRY FOLIAGE and ensure that the product granules reach the soil surface by removing debris and mowing if necessary prior to treatment.

Apply uniformly at the NORMAL RATE  (1X) in the Spring (South: January to early April; North: March to early May) prior to crabgrass or goosegrass germination.

ADDITIONAL SEEDING, OVERSEEDING, SPRIGGING, AND STOLONIZING INFORMATION

Do not use on newly seeded bermudagrass until after the second mowing.

Aerification, coring or other practices which break the herbicidal barrier will increase germination if performed just before seeding.

Residual effectiveness requires a delay of 5 growing months after the last treatment before overseeding. On newly sprigged bermudagrass wait until the grass has filled in and stolons have rooted down before application.

Where large areas of bermudagrass have been severely thinned (25% or more), withold application until the desired fill-in and rooting in of the stolons are achieved.

SPREADER APPLICATION RECOMMENDATIONS

Correct spreader calibration is important to minimize undesirable results.

For best results on bentgrass greens, an application using a properly calibrated tractor drawn drop spreader or push type drop spreader is recommended.

When applying the product at NORMAL RATE (1X), a HALF WIDTH application can be made. The HALF WIDTH application will ensure more uniform coverage and particle distribution by reducing the effect of spreader variation. If the HALF WIDTH application is chosen, be sure to use the HALF WIDTH setting under the NORMAL RATE (1X).

Heavy Weed Pressure

Where heavy weed pressure is expected, apply a NORMAL RATE (1X) followed by a repeat application at the HALF RATE (1/2 X), 6 to 8 weeks later. DO NOT APPLY THIS REPEAT APPLICATION TO BENTGRASS GREENS OR FAIRWAYS.

Reduce Yellowing or Injury

To reduce the potential for yellowing or injury on established bentgrass greens, bermudagrass greens, and perennial ryegrass winter over seedlings, apply an initial treatment to dry foliage at the HALF RATE (1/2X). Apply a repeat treatment 10-14 days later at the HALF RATE (1/2X).

Where herbicidal effects at the NORMAL RATE (1X) can be tolerated, this product may be applied at the HALF WIDTH to ensure proper particle coverage.

Poa Trivialis

When using this product on established winter overseeding of Poa Trivialis or blends containing Poa Trivialis, apply an initial treatment to dry foliage at the HALF RATE (1/2X). Repeat treatment again 10-14 days later at the HALF RATE (1/2X).
