    What is the mix ratio to use in a hose-end sprayer for Archer IGR and Talstar to treat for fleas & mosquitoes?
    A
    You want to set your dial to disperse 2 ounces per gallon of water and insert 1 ounce of Talstar, and 1 ounce of Archer into the container for however many gallons you think you will need to cover your yard.

    Does Archer IGR have any negative effects on beneficial insects?

    Archer IGR can have an effect on the reproduction and growth of insects that are listed on the product label and other insects that are closely related to listed insects.     How does Archer IGR work for mosquitoes and ants?
    I only need to spray outside.

    Archer IGR is an insect growth regulator, which inhibits the reproductive cycle of the insect so it can no longer reproduce.  It is not an insecticide on it's own and should be paired with an insecticide like Talstar for best results.

    Can I mix Archer IGR and Talstar P to get rid of fleas indoors and outdoors? If so, what is the mixing rate?
    A

    Talstar P is labeled for the treatment of fleas outdoors only. It can be mixed with Archer IGR. They can be tank mixed at one ounce for each product to one gallon of water per 1,000 sq ft. It can only be applied to indoor cracks and crevices. Fleas will be on the open floor surfaces so it is important to apply a product to those surfaces indoors for eradication. We do carry a Outdoor/Indoor Flea Kit.     Which IGR can I use for ants, roaches, ticks and fleas?
    I am looking for a spray that I can use for all four, as most of our treatments are based on these four, then we bait the mice or rats. which two chemicals are best for my program.

    Archer IGR is a very effective insect growth regulator that is labeled for ants, roaches, fleas and ticks. This product is very photostable, meaning it does not break down easily in light. This IGR can be used indoors and outdoors. Prior to any interior treatment, carpets, draperies and upholstered furniture should be vacuumed. The vacuum cleaner bag should be sealed and disposed of in an outdoor trash receptacle.

    How often do I have to spray Archer IGR for fleas inside my home?
    A

    Archer IGR should be used every 10-14 days when treating for fleas. We would also recommend that you use an insecticide in combination with this product for fleas, such as Temprid SC. Both of the products will be used every 10-14 days. Be sure to vacuum daily in between treatments as well. Please see our Flea Treatment Guide for more tips and information.

    Will Archer IGR harm earthworms?
    I try to limit the use of chemicals in my yard to increase earthworm activity and the soil's fertility. Will this, or other IGR's, harm earthworms and beneficial nematodes? What is the least toxic outside flea treatment available?
    A

    It is possible that Archer IGR could stop the lifecycle of earthworms even though it is not labeled for them. Earthworms are considered beneficial insects and will not be found on any label.

    We do carry green products, such as Essentria IC3, which is made with items that naturally occur in nature, such as rosemary and peppermint oil. This will likely last about two weeks outdoors because it will break down in the elements outdoors more quickly then a synthetic product.

    Can i use Archer IGR with Riptide and Permethrin SFR in a fogger?

    Archer IGR can be used with either Riptide or Permethrin SFR.   However, while Archer and Riptide can be used in a fogger, Permethrin SFR cannot.

    Does it make sense to mix Archer IGR, Conquer, and Gentrol IGR together for indoor/outdoor use?
    I've used conquer and archer together, mostly targeting fleas, but would like to add a roach IGR. Does it make sense to mix these three together for indoor/outdoor use?

    No, there is no need to use Gentrol IGR as well as Archer IGR. Archer IGR is labeled for roaches as well.

    What is the best month to spray Archer IGR for the best preventative control of fleas & ticks?
    Last year, Georgia was a nightmare with ticks appearing in April & fleas continuing into Sept. I'd like to try to prevent another infestation if I can. Does temperature effect the product? I'm thinking mid-March or late-Feb.

    Starting in March when the weather starts to get warm is the best time to get a jump on fleas. As long as it is not freezing out during the application you can apply products for flea control

    Is Archer IGR or Nyguard IGR effective against oriental cockroaches and which would be better for outdoor use?
    I see on the label it only lists asian, german, and brown-banded roaches. Also looking at Nyguard and that says the same.

    Both the Archer IGR and Nyguard IGR are labeled to treat for both asian and oriental  roaches (which are the same type of roach). If you are using this for an outdoor application you would want to choose the Archer since it is more photostable in an outdoor application.

    Can I mix Archer IGR and Conquer for flea control in my yard? How often do I need to reapply this mixture?
    I have been fighting fleas since last October. I have three standard poodles.

    Yes, Archer IGR and Conquer can be tank mixed and applied to the lawn once every two weeks for flea control. You should mow 1-2 days prior to application. Please read our How to Get Rid of Fleas article for more helpful tips on eradicating this pest.

    How much Archer IGR should be used per gallon when treating my property with a backpack mister?
    Also, how often should Archer be applied? I plan on using the Bifen IT, Exciter and Archer all together but am wondering if I will have to use all three chemicals every time I spray (Bifen IT every 28 days)

    Archer IGR would be mixed at .5 to 1 oz per gallon of water.  You can mix Bifen IT, Archer, and Exciter together in the same mix everytime you spray.  Both Archer and Bifen can be used every 14 days outdoors for active infestations.  Exciter is a quick contact kill only so can be used more often if needed.

    Does Archer IGR effect new flea eggs even after it has been dried?
    It says Archer IGR continues to work for 7 months. Does this mean that if a flea from outside were to lay eggs in a carpet I treated with IGR earlier, when those larvae hatch they will be effected by the IGR? Or does it only work for 7 months on those larvae that have been directly sprayed?
    A
    IGRs are made based on the way insects develop or behave. They target or mimic hormones that control the phases of molting, or the changes from larval to adult forms. There are different types of IGRs; they will target different aspects of the insect’s growth processes, all with the goal to prevent reproductive adults. 
    • Chitin synthesis inhibitors: Chitin is a component of the exoskeleton. If chitin synthesis inhibitors are employed, when an insect molts it cannot form a new exoskeleton, causing the insect to die. It can also interfere with egg development.
    • Juvenile hormone analogs or mimics: During molting, the influx of the juvenile hormones will prevent the insect from forming into the next life cycle phase, keeping it at a larval stage and preventing the insect from maturing into an adult.
    • Anti-juvenile hormones: This will block juvenile hormone production, causing young larval stages to molt too soon into a non-functioning adult.

    Archer IGR and other IGRs will leave a residual after it has dried. It retains activity against pre-adult fleas for up to 7 months.

    You can use either a hose end or a pump sprayer to apply Archer IGR. One of our most popular pump sprayer is the Chapin premier 1 gal XP.

    Is Archer IGR effective on stink bug eggs and larvae?
    In eastern Virginia there is a huge stink bug infestation that pest control companies can not seem to do anything about. They just say to pick up the adult stink bugs with a paper towel or napkin and throw it into a bucket of soapy water. The infestation is spreading to other areas of the country, including California, I understand. Will Archer IGR kill the eggs an larvae or at least make them sterile so they can not reproduce? If not, is there anything that can be used to get rid of the stink bugs in Virginia?

    Unfortunately, we are not aware of an IGR that is labeled to stop the reproduction of stink bugs. However, there are insecticides such as Alpine WSG, that are extremely effective at killing stink bugs. Alpine WSG can be used in attics and eaves; on exterior hard surfaces like sidewalks, driveways, patios and porches; on full exterior sides of buildings, where stink bugs congregate.

    Do you carry a product similar to Archer IGR but in an insect fogger type form?
    We have always tossed insect foggers underneath our house to rid/prevent the buggers because the space is too small and cramped. A person would need to roll around down there while laying flat on a skateboard if they were to spray insecticide manually! But after reading the positive reviews on this product we would like to know if you carry such a similar product with same effectiveness in can form.

    Archer IGR does not come in a fogger form.  We do have a product intended for fleas and it does have an IGR like what Archer is, and is in a fogger form.  The product is called Precor Plus Fogger.

    Dog park use, would there be any risk to dogs that might chew on the grass after it's dried?
    The application would occur during closed hours so that it would be dried before dogs enter the park. Another question is, you note that fleas live and reproduce in shady moist areas of the yard, but what if there are a lot of dogs on the property as in a dog park? Should we just treat the entire lawn (approx 1/2 acre) and perimeter of dwellings on a routine basis? Thank you for your help.

    Once Archer IGR is dry, it is safe the dogs to be on the lawn and chew the grass.

    We would recommend treating the entire lawn. Archer IGR is labeled to be used in pet dwellings so this will be safe to use there as well. We would also recommend using an insecticide with Archer IGR, such as Onslaught. Archer IGR is just a growth regulator. It will not kill the fleas. It will only stop them from reproducing.
