    Bayer Advanced Brush Killer Plus Concentrate will provide season long control of thistle. This product is both a pre and post emergent that contains a 6 moth long residual that keeps the weeds at bay.

    Is Bayer Advanced Brush Killer Plus effective against thistles?
    Will it kill adjacent yew bushes?

    The Bayer Advanced Brush Killer Plus does have Canada Thistle listed on the label for controlled species. It does not specifically cover Yew bushes as whether or not it would harm them, however if they are a desirable plant you will want to shield them from any spray drift and try to direct the spray only to the thistle. Most Brush Killer products will harm neighboring plants if spray drifts or runs into the root system. Please let us know if you have any other questions.

    Per the product label: Add 4 fl. oz. (1/2 Cup or 8 TBSP) to 1 gallon of water to treat up to 500 square feet. Do not apply more than 9 lbs ai/acre triclopyr (17 oz brush killer per 500 square feet) per year.

    If the Brush killer can be used on a Cottonwood tree stumps; ( see below ).
    When I drill deep holes into the Cottonwood tree will it kill the leaves so the cotton fluff will not develop and make a mess in the yards?

    Bayer Advanced Brush Killer Plus Concentrate will kill the cotton wood tree if applied to drilled holesin stump. You can also spray the the leaves with the diluted mixture to. Please refer to the product label for the mixing ratios.

    It would be recommended to wait 6-8 months before replanting after application of Bayer Advanced Brush Killer Plus Concentrate.

    Is it effective against mature dormant trees? Someone online said to make a slit in the bark and paint it on. Is it dependent upon girdling the tree?
    A
    In order to kill a tree of any kind, you will first need to cut the tree first. Once that is done, you will use undiluted Bayer Advanced Brush Killer Plus Concentrate on the stump. This will be applied with a paintbrush. Discard the paintbrush once complete with this project.

    I plan to use Bayer Advanced Brush Killer in a flower bed full of vines, how long before I can plant Roses?
    We bought a house with flower beds full of viney cover... ugh! I've pulled and pulled but I can't get them all out.

    Will Bayer Advanced Brush Killer Plus Concentrate kill my hedge?
    There is a tree beginning to grow, possibly maple, in my privot hedge. If I cut it to a stump, which would be about 3" in diameter, and brush on product, will it kill my hedge too?

    If you are just brushing the Bayer Advanced Brush Killer Plus Concentrate onto the stump directly it should not effect other plants in the area.

    Adding a surfactant to Bayer Advanced Brush Killer Plus Concentrate is fine and can increase the effectiveness but on the label is does not specify it is required.

    How long after applying the Bayer Advanced Brush Killer Plus Concentrate, is it safe for horses to graze in that area?
    I used Bayer Advanced Brush Killer Concentrate in a field.

    According to the manufacturer, after using the Bayer Advanced Brush Killer Plus Concentrate the re-entry is 8 weeks per grazer. Bayer Advance does NOT recommend applying their products in pasture areas.

    Does Bayer Advanced Brush Killer work on Monkey Grass in my beds?

    Bayer Advanced Brush Killer Plus Concentrate is more for woody brush and vines.  While it could kill grasses it was sprayed to we cannot recommend it for this use.  For monkey grass, we would recommend spot treating with a glyphosate product such as Gly Pho-Sel Pro 41% with Surfactant

    How long do I have to wait after it rains to apply Bayer Advanced Brush Killer Plus Concentrate?

    Per the product label on the Bayer Advanced Brush Killer Plus Concentrate there is no set time frame after it rains to apply, but you would want to wait until the ground is dry and there is no water puddled up. You would also need to be sure there will be no rain or water for 4 hours after application so the product has time to dry.

    Is Bayer Advanced Brush Killer harmful to bees?

    Bayer Advanced Brush Killer Plus Concentrate is not an insecticide so it should not harm bees. We suggest applying any product when bees are not foraging to lessen exposure.

    Poison ivy vines running up a tree. If spraying the poison ivy will this harm the tree?

    Bayer Advanced Brush Killer Plus Concentrate could harm a tree if you are spraying the leaves directly.  Just on the trunk should not cause any issues.

    How long after applying Bayer Advanced Brush Killer Plus Concentrate can flower seeds be planted?

    It is recommended to wait atleast 3 weeks before replanting in the areas where Bayer Advanced Brush Killer Plus Concentrate was applied. Removing the treated soil and replacing with fresh soil before planting is also recommended.
