    Q
Can I use CimeXa Dust on areas where I sprayed Temprid SC?
I'm planning on spraying Temprid SC. Would you recommend then applying CimeXa dust, or will adding the dust prevent the Temprid SC from working properly?
    A
It is not recommended to apply the Cimexa Dust in the same areas that you have treated with Temprid SC for most insect applications. The areas that you will treat can vary based on the insect or insects that you are targeting. Please provide additional information so that we can give you more specifics on where to apply each product.

    Q
Are the products in the Bed Bug Kit #2 safe to inhale?
Would I have to pack up my one year old and leave my apartment after treating?
    A

The products in the Bed Bug Kit #2 are safe when used as directed on their respective product label,.  As long as you keep pets/children out of the area while you treat and until the product has had time to completely dry or settle it is safe for pets and people to return and resume normal activity typically after 1 hour.

    Q
Can I use Bed Bug Kit #2 on sofas and love seats?
    A

Yes, Bed Bug Kit #2 contains products that can be used on the couch. Temprid FX can be applied to upholstered furniture. Apply only to the infested tufts, seams, folds, and edges, but do not apply to flat surfaces where prolonged human contact will occur. You may also want to use a contact kill like Sterifab that can be directly applied to mattresses, couch cushions and all areas where other insecticides cannot. Please read our "How to Get Rid of Bed Bugs" article for steps and tips on how to do your own treatment.

    Q
What spray do you suggest to use as a direct kill spray and a residual killer for bedbugs?
    A

We would recommend using one of our Bed Bug Kits so that you have all of the products necessary to do a complete treatment. The concentrated residual insecticide in the kit is a product called Temprid FX and Steri-Fab Insecticide works to kill bedbugs on contact. The kit you choose depends on how many rooms you need to treat. It would also be a good idea to look over our Bed Bug Guide for more information on treating and preventing bed bugs.

    Q
What can I use to get rid of spiders in 1930s house and moths in closet and possibly bed bugs?
we have pets and people with health issues, auto-immune and asmatic. Very limited budget and abilities...HELP! What do we use and how do we do it?
    A
We recommend that you contact a reputable pest control company in your area and request a free pest inspection so that you know for sure what type of insects you are dealing with. You don't have to hire the company but they can tell what type of moths you have and whether or not you have bedbugs. We are very reluctant to give product recommendations to families that have auto-immune problems or are asthmatic because we do not know what might cause issues for those folks. Before using any type of product you need to consult with their doctor to be sure the product will not have adverse effects on them. If you do find that you have bedbugs you can use either our bedbug kit 2 or bedbug kit 3 as it comes with all of the products you need to use to eliminate this pest. The same products will also help you eliminate spiders and moths. Please take a few moments to read over our pest control articles on bedbugs, clothes moths, spiders and Integrated Pest Management (controlling insects with limited use of chemicals).

  • Asked by Stephen from Lynn, Ma.

    Q
Will the bedbug kit #2 eliminate mites as well?
I believe my apartment is infested by mites that came in on a plant I brought in. Will the insecticides included in the bed bug kits be effective for those pests? I see the miticides are quite expensive from your company. Thanks for your help in this matter.
    A
It is important to be absolutely sure you are actually dealing with mites. Have the suspected mite identified by a reputable source, such as your local cooperative extension office or a reputable pest control operator. Treatments will vary for different pests. Treatment for say bedbugs is much different than the treatment for bird mites.  Removal of the infested nest or bird and a thorough cleanup is necessary. For treatment in the home, we recommend you frequently vacuum all carpet and upholstery and dispose of the bag or vacuum contents in a sealed bag outdoors. Spray Sterifab on couches, chairs and other upholstered furniture where you may spend time resting. Use MotherEarth Dust in all cracks and crevices around the perimeter of the room. Apply a thin coat of MotherEarth dust to rugs and carpets. Rake (not sweep) nap back and forth, causing dust to enter rug or carpet. Let product sit overnight. Repeat application as necessary and vacuum every 3 - 4 days for effective control. MotherEarth dust does not have a fast knockdown, it can take several days for insects to die after they contact the dust. Onslaught can be used for a faster knockdown. Thoroughly apply as a fine particle broadcast spray using a hand pump sprayer to infested rugs and carpets and other cracks and crevices around the perimeter of each room. Put all clothes through the dryer on high heat to help kill mites and their eggs.We have had many customers use the above recommendations with great success. Most customers report that it can take several months to get rid of all of the mites. Finding and removing the source of the infestation is very important and is the key to getting rid of the mites for good.

    Q
How can i get rid of bed bugs ?
Local pest control says they are a forever item ($500 monthly) which I know is BULL. With treatment, even termites don't stay long.
    A
There is no easy way to get rid of bedbugs, if there were an easy way to eliminate them then we would not be seeing so many people with infestations. Bedbug treatments are time consuming and labor intensive. You MUST treat every crack and crevice in infested areas, wash and dry clothing, inspect and treat books, shoes, knick knacks, papers, electronics and any other item that has potential to harbor the insects. A great way to save money when treating for bedbugs is to do it yourself. You can pay a professional pest control operator thousands to do the same job you can do yourself, with the same products for a couple of hundred dollars. We have all of the products you will need available on our website and we have an assortment of Bedbug Kits that we have put together for our customers convenience that contain all of the products you will need and will save a few bucks.

    Q
What is the best bed bug spray you recommend?
    A
We recommend using a bedbug kit. The Bed Bug Kit #2 provides you with the professional products necessary to do a complete bed bug treatment in your home. This kit has just the right balance of products to treat at least two rooms completely, plus enough to do the several follow-up treatments that are crucial to success. Unlike other kits you may find, the Do My Own Pest Control kits contain the most effective products available based on the most current research. This kit contains 1 x 8 oz. bottle of FenvaStar EcoCap concentrate, 1 x 4 oz bottle of Cimexa Dust, 1 x Bellow Hand Duster dusting tool, 2 x 17 oz. cans of Bedlam Bed Bug Spray, and 1 pint of Steri-Fab. It is very important that you take the time to educate yourself on all of the places bedbugs can hide and all of the labor that is involved in preparing a room for a bedbug treatment. Please take a few moments to read over our Bedbug Guide to get a general idea of what needs to be done. We also recommend that you encase all of your mattresses and boxsprings with Protecta Bed Encasements as mattresses and boxsprings can be very difficult to impossible to treat because of all of the seams, folds, cracks and crevices.

    Q
What can I use to finally end my problem with bedbugs?
I got bedbugs in my furniture from a storage unit. I've had them for two years. We spray and bomb and there are no bites for a few months then they come back.
    A
The reason after you bomb you have no bites is because you are only killing the ones that come in contact with the insecticide. You relly want to make sure to have barriers up to kill the bed bugs when they come out from the furniture, wall voids, bed frames, etc. We recommend using Bed Bug Kit 2 which will treat every area the bed bugs may come from.

    Q
Chemicals used most recently in bed bug treatment PI, Talstar, JT Eaton's Kills, and Zenprox
    Are these combinations effective?
    A
While PI and JT Eatons Kills Bedbugs II will kill bedbugs you make direct contact with they do not leave long residuals.  Talstar P is labeled to kill bed bugs but you cannot use it in all the areas required for an effective treatment.  Zenprox EC is a very popular product and can be used in more areas, so it is a very good recommendation. However, it is well documented that bed bugs require multiple forms of treatment and preventative measures which are outlined on our Bed Bug Product page. We do advise you read our article, “How to Get Rid of Bed Bugs”. We would recommend using a dust as well as something like Zenprox EC to treat the areas that you cannot put a liquid such as behind the electrical outlets, switch plates, unders baseboards, etc.

    Q
How do I get rid of my bed bugs?
I got my bed bug from a friend he was coming over and never told me he had bed bug. I bought your number two kit I spray saturday put the dust around but I am waiting for the sprayer. But it does not seem to be working it seem like I got more bed bug. I sleep on my couch so do i need to throw my couch away. How long does it take to start see these little devil gone bit are driving me crazy. Thank you
    A

Bedbugs are not a pest that can be eliminated quickly, and it will take multiple treatments and time to kill all of them that may be in your home. We highly recommend you go back to your bedroom to sleep so that the bedbugs do not follow you and infest your couch as well. Bedbugs need a human present to be attracted to, so they come out of hiding and cross all the chemicals you have applied to be affected by them. The only thing in the home they are attracted to is us unfortunately. Your order of Bed Bug Kit #2 should have had a print out of our bedbug guide included in the box which goes over step by step instructions for the application of each chemical, the non chemical steps you need to be taking in addition to the chemical ones, and the overall outline of how long it should take and what to expect. If you did not receive it in your box, we highly encourage you to use this link to the Bed Bug Guide to read through it in detail to understand what will go on as you continue to treat every 7-10 days until you can go 30 days consecutively with no signs of live bedbugs and no new bites.
