    What is best product for rhodendron root weevils?
    I need something for both adults and larvae.
    A

    Bifen I/T is labeled to kill weevils of several different forms and has shown to be successful through the studies of many universities on rhododendren. You would need to spray the entire plant down to try and not only kill the weevils but also to hopefully repel them from coming in the first place. Good plant health is a key factor in eliminating and preventing weevils of all kinds.  Bifen should work to kill some currently and the most in the spring. Just use heavy water volumes to push it through the soil and retreat as necessary for new activity. If for any reason you dont see the full control with the bifenthrin you can always try something like Acephate 97 as a systemic and use the Talstar as a foliar spray and as a general insecticide spray around your home to help keep down any other unwanted pests.

    How soon can Bifen IT be applied after it has rained?
    Application would be done using end hose method. Thanks

    Bifen IT typically only take 1 hour to completely dry on a surface and will hold up very well in the rain, but you should have a minimum of 6 hours between your applicaton and rainfall or irrigation. Bifen IT is rainfast 6 hours after the application, and is recommended to be used with a pump sprayer.

    Should any protective clothing be warn when spraying BIfen IT? Is it toxic to humans or pets. Carcinogenic?
    A

    It is not necessary to wear protective clothing, however, you can when using Bifen IT. It is recommended that you keep your pets and children out of the area until the product has dried completely. It is safe to return to the area once the product has dried completely. Please check the SDS for any additional information regarding carcinogenic.

    Can I use Bifen IT around a pond for fire ant control?
    A

    If you are going to do a direct mound drench with Bifen IT and there's no possiblity of run-off, you can. A safer product to use as a mound drench is EcoVia EC, it is labeled safe to be used around ponds, please follow all label instructions.

    Can I use Bifen IT on the rafters of my pool enclosure to prevent spider webs from forming?
    A

    Bifen IT would not prevent spiders from forming webs but would help to kill spiders or other insects that contact a treated surface long enough to receive a lethal dose.  To prevent spider webs it would be better to use a product like Web Out.

    Will Bifen IT come out of clothing?
    Husband works for pest control and he got Bifen I/T on his clothes.

    Per the product label, you are to "Take off contaminated clothing, rinse skin immediately with plenty of water for 15-20 minutes, and if needed be contact a poison control center or doctor for treatment advice."

    How toxic is Bifen IT to humans or to pet dogs?

    Product good for treating termites?
    A
    Bifen IT will kill termites that come in contact with the chemical. To eradicate termites you want to use a product that has a transfer effect.     Would Onslaught or Oneguard be better at mosquito control?

    Will Bifen work on horseflies and blackflies? Do you apply the same way?

    Bifen IT is labeled for flies and can be applied at 1 oz. per gallon of water per 1,000 sq. ft. as directed.  However, because flies in general can be more challenging to control with spraying alone, we suggest you refer to our helpful Fly Treatment & Control Guide for treatment recommendations and for links to related products.

    Does the different IT control the spotted wind drosophila in my raspberry plants

    Can the product be used in thermal propane fogger?
    A

    No, Bifen I/T cannot be used in a thermal fogger or any type of fogger. It must be applied with tank sprayer-type equipment such as handheld, backpack, or large-volume tank equipment. If you'd like to provide our staff with what pest you are treating for and where we would be happy to make alternative recommendations to you.

    Too many gnats
    Will Bifen I/T help reduce the amount of gnats flying around the yard? Or, is there another product you can recommend? I live in the south and there is a huge gnat issue during the summer.

    Bifen IT will kill any gnats that come into contact with a treated area.  You may want to look over our article on Getting Rid of Gnats for more information.

    A

    Bifen IT is labeled to treat for wasps, but it is not an instant knockdown. Bifen IT will kill wasps that come in contact with it. Retreat after 21 days if signs of renewed activity exist. You may want to consider our Wasp and Hornet Kit which contains the residual insecticide Cyzmic CS, plus Wasp-X to kill insects very quickly when you locate nests.

    Does Bifen on plants taste bad to deer or rabbits
    As a side benefit to spraying Bifen for yard pests such as ticks, etc. Does Bifen which has been sprayed on plants make them distasteful to deer and/or rabbits?

    We are not aware of a bad taste left behind after an application of Bifen IT, however, although minute amounts of the residual are not harmful, we do not recommend applying this product in areas where animals tend to forage. Instead, you could use a more natural product such as EcoVia EC.

    Safety PPE applying Bifen IT
    What is the proper mask or respirator that should be worn when applying with a backpack blower outdoors ?
    A

    You should not need a full respirator mask when using Bifen IT in a mist blower, but we would recommend at least wearing long sleeves, long pants, socks and shoes, and a nose and mouse mask for extra safety. Our KN95 masks would be fine for this application. Of course, anytime you are applying product vertically, be sure to wear adequate eye protection as well.
