Bifen XTS is a great product choice for mosquito control. It will last outdoors for 4-8 weeks, depending on rainfall and UV rays in the area the product is applied.
The most important thing to remember when treating for mosquitoes is that they hang out on the underside of leaves and shrubs. You should treat all shrubs, bushes and trees, remembering to not only treat the main bush or shrub but also the underside of the leaves. The product is best applied with a mist blower or a hang pump sprayer. Mosquitoes lay their eggs in standing water, so if there are any areas of standing water where you are treating, those should be treated as well with BTI Mosquito Dunks or Altosid Pro-G Mosquito Larvicide.

Bifen XTS is labeled as safe on non-bearing fruit and nut trees and would not kill a tree. You should not eat fruit from a tree that was sprayed with Bifen XTS.
Yes, Bifen XTS can be applied directly to fire ant mounds. According to the product label, it should be applied at 0.06% rate (1/3 fl. oz./1 gallon of water) and you want to sprinkle the mound, using 1-2 gallons of dilution, until it is wet and apply to a 4-foot diameter circle around the mound. When treating mounds larger than 12”, use the higher volume. Do not treat in the heat of the day and for optimum results, apply in cool weather, such as in early morning or late evening hours.
