  • Asked by Kim from Gulfport, Ms
    06/11/2017
    Q
Will Bayer Advanced 12 Month Tree & Shrub Insect Control Landscape treat Southern Blight?
    A

Bayer Advanced 12 Month Tree & Shrub Insect Control Landscape is not labeled for Southern Blight. Southern blight is extremely difficult to manage because the fungus has a wide host range (more than 500 plant species in 100 plant families). We would recommend contacting the local cooperative extension office for a fungicide and treatment program recommendation that is effective in your region.

  • Asked by Barry from Denver, Colorado
    06/22/2017
    Q
Can I use Bayer Advanced 12 Month Tree & Shrub Insect Control Landscape Formula for Japanese Beetles on grape vines in a home garden?
The label shows this product is effective against Japanese beetle for many fruits. However, the label does not show effectiveness for Japanese Beetles for grape vines. Please clarify. Also the amount to use for grapes is not clear, please clarify? Also, is this the correct time to apply for grapes? If this product does not work do ypou recommend bayer advanced vegetable and garden insect spray?
    A

Bayer Advanced 12 Month Tree & Shrub Insect Control Landscape Concentrate is not labeled for use on grape vines. The Vegetable and Garden Insect Spray can be used on grapes according to the product label, however it does not list Japanese Beetles. We would recommend Fertilome Triple Action for your needs. Triple Action is for the feeding adults and can be used up to day of harvestYou could also use Bonide Beetle Bagger Traps and hang them away from the affected plants. If you would like a systemic insecticide for grapes, you could use Monterey Fruit Tree and Vegetable Systemic Soil Drench on grapes. This product would be used once a year between bud-break and the pea-berry stage, at least 30 days before harvest.

  • Asked by George from Lakeland Florida
    10/06/2014
    Q
Will Bayer Advanced 12 Month Tree and Shrub treat peach tree borers?
    A
Bayer Advanced 12 Month Tree & Shrub Insect Control Landscape Formula is not labeled for use on fruit trees. You can use a product that contains permethrin but it must be labeled for use on edible vegetation such as Tengard SFR. Unfortunately, once the beetles have already infested the bark of a peach tree there are not any viable treatment options. In cases of infestation, the general recommendation is to simply protect the surrounding trees with preventative sprays with a product labeled for such a use.
