    If I just put st Augustine grass down how long should I wait before applying Celsius?
    I applied a small rate of Celsius to grass we laid four months ago and it appears to be killing the grass.

    The label does not specify how long to wait to apply Celsius to newly planted St. Augustine like it does for Bermudagrass and Zoysia Grass. We recommend contacting the local Master Gardner in your county here. There are a couple different factors that could be causing the grass do die and since they are in your county, they can be of great help.

    Can you mix celsius, segment, prosedge and liquid fertilizer for weed and bermuda control in centipede lawns
    A
    Celsius WG Herbicide may be tank mixed with other products. However, the ProSedge only recommends tank mixing with Glyphosate herbicides and unfortunately, Celsius is not a Glyphosate herbicide. If this product is to be tank-mixed with other products, compatibility should be tested prior to mixing. To test forcompatibility, use a small container and mix a small amount (0.5 to 1 qt) of spray, combining all ingredients in thesame ratio as the anticipated use. If any indications of physical incompatibility develop (precipitation, settling, changes in color), do not use this mixture for spraying. Indications of incompatibility may occur within 5-15 minutes after mixing. Read and follow the label of each tank mix product used for precautionary statements, directions for use, geographic and other restrictions. To further inquire about the compatibility of the Celsius with Segment and a liquid Fertilizer we recommend you contact Bayer for guidance. Bayer may be reached at 800-331-2867.

    How long does it take for Celsius to kill doveweed in St. Augustine grace?
    I applied Celsius five days ago. When should it take affect? Should I reapply?

    It could take 1-4 weeks in order for the doveweed to die completely. The speed will depend on varied temperatures and will be fasted in warmer temperatures. Weed control may be reduced if application is made in the prescense of heavy dew, fog, and mist/rain or when weeds are under stress due to a drought. A second application of Celsius can be made 2-4 weeks after the first treatment. Please let u sknow if you have any additional questions.

    Celsius does not kill or suppress annual bluegrass/poa annua. Please let us know what kind of turfgrass you have so that we can recommend a product that will work for your needs.

    Is Celsius WG Herbicide safe for dogs?
    Do I need to wait a certain amount of time before I can let the dogs back into the yard?

    According the Celsius WG Herbicide label, you should keep children and pets off of the treated area until it has a chance to dry completely. This normally takes 2-3 hours depending on weather.

    Bayer's Celsius Has Little Effect oN Crabgrass
    I have tried Bayer's product Celsius (WHICH YOU SELL) in my South Florida st aug lawn on post emergent crabgrass. It is my belief (and many others) that this product is falsely advertised. The only product that truly kills crabgrass is Asolux
    A
    Cesius is only labeled to control Large Crabgrass and there are other varieties such as hairy and smooth that are not on the label as listed weeds it will control.  That could be why some are not having the success they would when using for the specific type of crabgrass they have.  Unfortunately, we are unaware of a selective post-emergent herbicide to control crabgrass in a St Augustine lawn.  St. Augustine is a very fragile grass, and so most selective products that are labeled to remove crabgrass and not harm your grass.  It is recommended to kill the crabgrass with a round up type product, like GlyPhoSel Pro, which will also kill just the St. Augustine around the crabgrass that it is sprayed on, and then a couple weeks later re-seed those areas with new St. Augustine.

    For long term control though, you should apply a pre-emergent in the late fall and early spring which will prevent new crabgrass from coming up next year.  If you apply pre-emergent every year, you should not have issues with crabgrass long term.  Dimension 2EW is one of our most popular pre-emergents for crabgrass.

    Celsius WG Herbicide product life
    I bought this and the product was manufactured two years prior (according to the label on the container). I appears to lose effectiveness rather quickly, wherein I have to now double the dose to get some response. The weeds are in a new area, so it is not likely there is weed resistance to Celsius occurring. Can you provide guidance as to the increased rate of application with product age?

    When stored properly, out of extreme temperatures and out of direct sunlight, you can expect Celsius to last for about 3 years from the date of purchase. We no longer sell this product so any additional questions, we would recommend contacting the manufacturer, Bayer.

    I am in central texas, will Celsius WG harm blue bonnet plants?
    A
    Blue Bonnet plants are not on the Celsius WG Herbicide product label as safe to be sprayed over or tolerant to the product so we would not advise using it in those areas. If you are looking for a weed or grass control product in blue bonnets you are welcome to tell us what you want to eliminate and we will see if we have a product better suited to your needs.

     Celsius WG Herbicide is not labeled for goosegrass. Southern Ag Vantage Grass killer is a great product to eradicate goos grass. Please refer to the product label to make sure the type of turf you are applying to is tolerant to this product.

    How long do I have to wait to fertilize after using Celsius? How often should we spray Celsius?

    Per the Celsius WG Herbicide product label, you can actually add a fertilizer to the finished solution for application. For certain weeds, a second application made 2-4 weeks after the initial application may be needed for complete weed control. Total amount of product applied in a calendar year (365 days) must not exceed 7.4 oz (210 g) of product per acre.

    Why is celsius no longer available?
    Celsius was a great product, why doesnt DMOPC carry it any longer?

    We agree, Celsius is a fantastic product and it is unfortunate we no longer have it as part of our inventory. However due to a contract we have with the manufacturer there were recently some turf products we carried that are no longer a part of our contract and we cannot get. We apologize for the inconvenience and you should be able to find the product on other sites similar to ours online.

    I mowed and used Celsius WG to kills weeds; how long do I need to wait to lay down seed?
    The yard has grass and is being over run with weeds. I'm Just trying to get a better looking yard for the kids to play in.

    The seeding interval will vary depening on what type of turf you have. You should review the product label for specific directions for your turf. For example:

    "Seeded Bermudagrass: This product may be applied to Bermudagrass up to 90 days prior to seeding without a significant reduction in Bermudagrass stand."

    "Seeded Zoysiagrass: This product may be applied to zoysiagrass up to 90 days prior to seeding without a significant reduction in zoysiagrass stand."

    Can Celsius WG Herbicide control poa annua or wild violet? How long do you have to wait until reseeding after application?

    Celsius WG Herbicide is not labeled for eradication of Poa Annua but is labeled for wild pansy field violet. Please provide additional information on the type of turfgrass that you do not wish to harm and we will gladly help you select a product that will treat the broadleaf and grassy weeds that you would like to eliminate.

    Celsiu WG Herbicide is labeled to treat for Chamberbitter. However, we no longer carry Celsius and would recommend in its place Hi Yield Atrazine for ChamberBitter. Be sure to follow the product label to make sure your turf grass is tolerant of this product.

    Per the Celcius WG Herbicide product label: MOWING INSTRUCTIONS: Do not mow immediately after treating with this product or before spray has dried. 

    Typically you should 1-2 days before and after applying.

    Will Celsius WG Herbicide kill Bermuda in Floratam?
    I read online that Celsius WG would kill bermuda grass in floratam, but it is listed for use on bermuda?

    Celsius will not remove bermuda from St Augustine grass as the label states it is safe for use on both turf types. If you are looking to remove bermuda from St Augustine grass there are very few products on the marke that will do that in general, much less on the most sensitive version of St Aug which is Floratam. Prograss EC Herbicide is one of the few listed specifically for removing bermuda from St Augustine lawns.

    How early in the year can I use Celsius WG Herbicide?
    When do I need to stop using it?
    A

    The best time to use Celsius WG Herbicide or any other herbicide will depend on where you are treating and the specific type(s) of weeds you need to treat. Most post-emergent herbicides will be most effective when the target weeds are young actively growing. If you need help with identification or determining the best time to apply, you can call your local cooperative extension office and ask to speak to the master gardener on staff and he/she should be able to help you.
